My motor averages 240-260 depending on how quick it gets tempted when I come off the track. During break in, I made sure to maintain 220-240.

I was finally able to race with my modded R8 that I got from Rex, and couldn't be happier with how it performed. Ran perfect all day and never missed a beat, with tons of usable power. Was getting 8 1/2 minute run times with the standard venturi and it was coming off at 240 degrees all day. Still learning, but man do I love this engine. Thanks again, Rex.

Look what came this week! The new 3 port is nice, silicone filled crank, low head, newer carb. Map is $225.00

The 3 port has a long needle, looks to be similar to the R8 carb but might be slightly different. Got 4 tanks through mine on the bench!

Is the R83 similar to the Alpha Dragon or Dragon II? I am looking for a new motor and pipe and leaning towards the R83 and 2090 pipe. My home track is Phil Hurd in Savannah. It has a lot of mid speed infield a medium/high speed back straight and about a 140 ft front straight.

For what I can tell, I'd say it is kind of a Dragon "1.5." I don't believe it has the crank insert like the Alpha II, but appears to have some updates over what you would find in the original Dragon. Now, this is purely my interest in finding out by looking at specs/information on both motors.

I will leave it to Rex to give the official word. But hopefully this helps. Also, I would think this would match up well with the 2090 pipe given it is already supposed to be a great low end power motor.

It is closer to the Dragon. I like the idea of the brass insert in the crank for balance but I believe it is in the wrong orientation on the Worlds engines. Argus was originally going to release it as a $300+ engine and I told them that was not the right approach. I will do some testing but a little crank timing will make more difference than any bling they add to some engines.

Rex,
Are you using the Buku caps on your Argus engines? If so, which part number fits as I'd like to order some from you.

Thanks,
Matt

Anyone have first impressions with the new 3 port? I am looking for a new buggy motor. I have heard good things about the Argus motors. Top priority for me is a linear power band and good fuel economy. I want to consistently pit at 10 minutes.

I dont know about the 3 port but i ran the d52 last year and the r8 this year so far. These engine are great never had a flame out didnt have to mess with tune at all and will run with the top names. Ic all these big name motors always flaming out and have tuning problem and i have none and the engine are cheaper. Also thanks to Rex he knows his stuff and is great to deal with I dont think youll be dissapointed with this engine line.
