Hows it going guys? This thread is amazing tons of amazong info. I got a used mito4 off eaby for 150 bucks an it came with the 9901/41021 combo as well. I must say this engine is very strong an just runs amazing an holds a tune very good. Im running it in my mugen mbx5R an she just flys you hit the trigger the power is right there right now . Im a bit nervous about this engine after reading about them failing.
This is my 1st high end engine an im very impressed. My engine came with the nova fuel cooler as well what do you guys think ? Dose it work or snake oil?
Im running the nova clutch as well with the nova 14 tooth clutch bell. Im super impressed with this combo works super good lays the power down very good.

Ok, so I have run my Mantra now for about 2-3 qts of fuel. I am still taking things a little easy as the motor is still very tight. Running my 9901/41021 combo. I have been happy with the performance so far, no mileage to report yet. Haven't timed it but it seems to be a little thirsty. I must admit, my eyes were recently opened.
A fellow racer at the track running the same car but different motor/pipe combo. P5 with 9886/41021. I'll be damned but that sucker flat out hauls the mail. He was running a 9901 and swapped to the 9886. Said it woke his motor up. After seeing how well that p5 ran with that combo I think I'll be getting a 9886 myself. Curious how a mantra will run on that combo.

Ran an 11:22 with the karma(silver head)69 type carb,2096 w 2050 double bend header, blue restictor, stock shimming and a c5tgc plug. After a 20 min heat soak run. Not to shabby for the 90 i paid for it haha

talk about different ends of the engine spectrum ... lol
421b is an 8 port multi exhaust 16.26 x 16.8
mito4 has all of novas new designs of odd bore x strokes ... offset bearing races ... offset carburetor .... and its a 4 port single exhaust
thats like saying how does this apple taste compared to this lemon .... lol
421b was awesome

What is the difference between the 15010 and 15009 cranks? I have a P5 and I stripped the clutch bell screw, when I drilled it out I didn't leave enough "meat" to get the screw out. I have an elite 5 with a damaged p/s but the crank is good. Trying to figure out if I can put that crank from the Elite 5 into the P5.

my mito 4 just flat out hauls .it blows the doors off my brothers ofna 7 port. The mito 7 will even be faster an will have good top end .
My mito holds a very good tune as well iv yet to tune it when running in diffrent kinds of weather. I just pre heat an take it easy then i open her up.

do any of you have experience with running a fioroni clutch? I plan to try one out but it only comes with a clutch nut it looks like. I would need shims and a collet for Novarossi sg crank (Legend .25 in 4.0 truggy). What collet should I buy? A novarossi?

Doing break-in on a Mantra here after doing some touch up on it, and I have to say it's been one of the easiest engines to date, not missed a beat yet.
I'm still running it rich on break-in fuel, so too early to say exactly how it will be in the end. But so far it really gets out of the hole nice, it just hooks and pulls.

I love Novarossi engines though. Uber painless to run and tune.

Most come with the 69 type carb, some use the three needle 68 type and a few of the cheaper engines use the 65 type. The 69 type can also come with two different LSN Length and tapers. I dont think any carbs still use the short needle. The 65 type has a 7mm under bore and only one oring on the LSN I wouldnt recomend running it.
