I was just going to dyno test the new Top Elite 8 ...I will try all the usual pipes and will get back to you on what I find..

After run oil

Don't really want to start another thread on this, but what else works well as ARO?

I've heard people use Marvel Myster oil or even sewing machine oil.

Isn't the Singer machine oil just the same white mineral oil you'd find anywhere?

Do you have any test result with toro/bonito with any pipe?

Suggestions on a pipe for a p5xl

All this talk of pipes has me wondering what the best pipe would be for a p5xl I have on my buggy. Local track has about a hundred feet straight and a good sweeper turn. I currently have a dynamite 086 speed on it now. Getting decent power, but wonder what better options are out there.
Thanks

what carb and where to buy

I tried a search and just got more confusion. I have 2 motors, a Nova +21-4c , and a Maxy Cinco .. I need a carb that will work with both of these. Have no idea which one or where to purchase.. Anyone help me with Nova carbs?

Thanks

The 24067 is the carb that came on the Cinco and may have come on the 21-4C as well. It was the standard carb until this year. Some of the 2015 engines are being sent out with the new 24068 which is supposed to be easier to tune and get better milage. Drake runs the 24068 on his engines.

Ok thank you very much for the part numbers. Cleared things up for me. Now I just need to figure out where to buy one. I found maybe 1 place online to order one and it was not a place I was familiar with..

20%-30% for my p5

So after serval years off I got my buggy back on the track. Although I asked for 30% fuel I received 20%. I did not notice it until nearly the end of the gallon the other day. I did notice the car was not as snappy but just figured I had not race tuned the engine or my memory was off. The engine is shimmed for 30% and has an odonald 99 plug yet has never idled or given me a 10 plus minute run time and temp at 230 while on 30% as it has on 20% the last two weeks out.

Should I bother going back to 30%? And if so should I go back to factory needle settings or just richness hsn and lsn an hour or so? If not should I remove the shim?

Most Nova's come shimmed for 25% nitro, so unless you adjusted it to run 30%, leaving it alone would be ok. Switching from 30 to 20 will require you to adjust your needles. Starting from the factory settings is always the best way so you know where you are at exactly. No guess work. If its close now, you may be lucky enough to just go a couple hours one way or the other. Also when you lower your nitro content, you will loose some snap on the bottom and some on the top. Less bang in the tank...Its normal.

If you are happy with it, it has a good idle, good smoke on take off and at full throttle down the straight, good power and you are running 10 minutes.... I would leave it:sneaky:

I think it's the other way around, they come shimmed for 30

Actually they say its shimmed for 25%, maybe they can't use no higher than 25% across the pond?

just checked a manual here and the recommended fuel is 25%

jazjato 06-06-2015 05:50 AM

Although I miss the snap. The run time, idle, and no flame outs this gallon of fuel has been nice. I may just leave it alone.
Thanks guys
