On the P5, and on the plus 4, I have seen an extra minute of runtime going from a 9901 to a 2096 pipe. I have gone back and forth a couple times and I like the power of the 9901 better, but that 2096 is sure smooth.

the 2084 will tame that engine right down, you will not have any issues ..........Out of all the pipes I tried on those engines the 2084 reduced the power about the most.......

Thanks Neal

anyone know if any of the losi RE manifolds are the same as the 41021? i know the re12 is the 9901 pipe but are any of the manifolds the same as the 41021. thanks

the taiwan copies are in no way "the same" as the Italian originals , similar maybe but not "the same" bro

the headers will perform very similar though ;)

What do you mean not the same???:weird::weird::weird: My Integgy header looks the same, all but the fact after 1 week it was rusty :D:sneaky: I agree Monty, they look the same, perform in a similar fashion but when you look at the bends they sometimes are not as smooth, and the material is definitely not to the same standards. No joke on my Integy pipe rusting after one week!

I do have to admit that my Hong Nor 2080 and the square header are working very well together and I don't have any complaints, but we will see if they last 2 years like my Italian made 2013 have or my friends Nova pipe has, faded but still running perfectly without any problems. :D

Besides my Integy, in Vietnam people run the cheap China/Taiwan pipes and headers in a race to save money, I have seen the elbows rusted out on headers, the tips pushed through and pipes tore. I have also seen Nova pipes so bent up it wasn't funny (but no holes or tears) and I even started fixing these bent up monsters for a bit of money (freezing water is so nice.) At the end of the day everyone I know who has used a cheap header has had problems much quicker than those who use the real deal. The cheap pipes are okay but the headers are probably not the way to go, I have the square Nova header waiting for when the cheap one to crap out

The Losi pipes arent fragile. at $60 on amain, i see no reason to purchase the nova 9901, when this re12 gets the about the the same runtime, and same powerband.

And your pipes are made of some funky aluminum if they are rusting.

Novarossi 9901SS hands down a tough pipe to kill. Would be hard to come near build quality with this pipe(OS yes), Nova headers to me seam that little bit more higher quality i have tryed some cheaper headers a while back and found the spring holes to flog out twice as quick, Re-drilled and was back in the same boat. not saying the Nova ones flog out they do but just seam to hang in there. OS made stuff is also top quality...

hi guys soz if i havnt read back thru the thread im lookin at getting a truggy engine and narrowed it down to a few of choice.

remember it is for truggy. im after a mixture of runtime power and smooth usable power or possibly just raw grunt i guess depends on track where jumps are etc.

i wanted to know (from the guys who run truggy and have tried these engines)

would i be better off with just the .21 like say the novarossi bonito and or the o.s speed xzb

is what i would really like to know if i was to already have these engines and then went and put in a novarossi roma .25 am i going to feel and notice a big difference? because the nova roma is cheaper then the bonito and about on par with the o.s speed (well where i can get one from anyway)

and the roma's dont have a balanced crank etc. so im not sure.

i just want to jump in my truggy and rip it around the track sure if its too much i can feather the throttle but i would rather the extra grunt am i going to notice it in the roma?

Try a Fusion X7.

Unfortunately it is more like engine, manifold, pipe, clutch set up, drivetrain efficiency, track size, track layout, track surface, and most improtantly drivestyle combo that will yield long runtimes.

The 9901 is supposed to be the long runtime with softer bottom type pipe. I personally like the 2096 and the 9853 pipes. I have all three and it is not always the 9901 that yeilds the longest runtime for every track for me.

Experiment. Because some pipes, you may loose a little runtime, but you may be generally faster around the track.

Ok, thanks for the input guys. I'll start out with a PLUS-4BTT and a 9901 pipe and the 41021 mainfold.

Any thoughts about vernti size? If my goal is making 10 minutes pitstops would I use a larger or smaller venturi? Or does the PLUS-4BTT have a "sweetspot-size" venturi?

bluexile67 12-18-2012 09:42 PM

anyone know what the power output on the novarossi romas rated at? they dont show it in the engine specs on the novarossi website :(.

Ummm alot!

The hp rating on our engines is really nothing , its not a true standardized mark or anything like that , the roma is ummm how shall I say "hold on to your hat boy!" Type of power , lol

And it has killer torque ;)

Plus 21-4btt 2096ss/41021 7mm , you'll be happy

yeah? would be able to say it would be a step up from putting in a bonitto into a truggy?
