read brotha read

this was just covered like literally a page ago

270°-290° is not unheard of

you are temping the engine VERY close to the glow plug with the ULTRA low heads , not alot of airflow either so they will read hot

How did you test it? Covered in soapy water and blew into a line? Did you by chance open and close the lid like you would while it's in the car?

I had a bad tank, when I would close the lid and press with my finger it wouldn't leak at all, but if I cycled the lid a few times like it was in the car and just let the spring snap it closed it would leak like a sun of a gun.

[QUOTE=houston;10798863]i was trying not to make too much light of this but many of the nova engines as of late have been coming with a subpar front bearing (compared to 17011 ) and have been causing some issues , the more of you guys that show your concern to serpent usa/desoto racing the quicker the issue will be remedied or email novarossi direct through their website

I have a few Nitro Tech engines. I think the front bearings are leaking and its effecting the tune. Also the steel rear bearing seems to develop a little lateral slop prematurely.Love the engines but need to address the issues.

Does the Nitro Tech come with the 17011 from factory or something else? How can you tell if its a 17011?

Also whats a good ceramic replacement for the rear bearing?

Can I purchase these bearings from you?

Thanks

If you were testing a Losi tank, its pretty much a given to use linkage collars on the lid spring, one on each side.

Well aware, and Not only do I use linkage collars I put around 5-6 goodie bands around the tank and lid so when you snap it, It will darn near take your finger off. Even with this the seal will eventually fail.

Lol, thats funny, if it still is leaking air, I would bet the fuel line for the clunk, is junk, or a seam is leaking, or the tank is junk! There cheap enough to replace, and save a headache.

Liking the BTT better and better. Didn't really start making good power till close to 2 gallons. Had me concerned for a bit that it was too smooth, and lacking the power I wanted. But those concerns are gone now. Temps are finally up to normal as well. Temping in the 260F range and running great.

For what it's worth,

I just tore down my Nitrotec that is impossible to tune, will not idle, shuts down when it's hot. flames out for no reason, etc. at 4-5 gallons. Both front and rear bearings are garbage.
