Spot on zixx!!!
Btw , how did you end up with .35mm shimming?
You should use calipers to check the actual thickness of the shims you are installing to achieve proper deck heighth . I got a sweet little tool (custom depth gauge with a manual readout ) that I used to use often to check actual deck heighth and now I pretty much just use the shims because novarossi engines are pretty consistent in the machining dept. ;-)
Another thing , make sure an aluminum .30mm shim isn't stuck to the head button , seen that happen a lot .

I broke the motor in with no shim (like a dumba$$) and it was sounding like it had a seized front bearing or a bad rod. So I took the head off and relized it didnt have any head shimms on it. So I put two OS shims on it for the moment. I thought the +4 came with shims but I guess I was wrong.. BIG MISTAKE

you probably switched head buttons and didnt transfer the head shims

i have a p5xlt currently ..it has been gone through by a buddy of mine here locally ..he said that the novas sometimes come some left over machine dust ....and that there can be burrs in places where the key parts all fit together (true of most engines he says )...i think the maxpower have been gone through and deburred and fited ...just what ive heard ..so if that is the case you could say that its better than a p5

the Toro and Fms have Ceramic rear bearings..the FMS has a Filled crank..and the specs on the engine (FMS) were from Jim Hottingers suggestions( i think his partner /chris had imput as well) i have had both and for truggy if you want just the baddest around i think this the FMS is the choice...it is on here alot and recommended for truggy..but Adam drake likes the Plus 4...it can be preference too....but it will go 9-10 minutes .
