A new motor will take 483cc of fuel to break in.

Seriously, it depends on a number of factors. Type of fuel (oil content), whether any extra caster oil was added, brand of engine, break in method and etc. Plan on about a gallon of fuel + or -.

race gen 2 with oil at % 11

Your break in is done when you have fully completed the break in instruction as indicated in my guide on post 1. Just follow the directions if you do not know what you are doing and you will be fine.

I had a snafu happen with my B5 this racing weekend. My air filter came off on my RC8.2 buggy during qualifiers and the engine flamed out. The B5 is my first nitro engine and is / was an absolute beast. I'm wondering if the engine is a loss or if there is anything I can do to repair it. The engine feels like it has good compression still. It passes the flop test. The engine has three gallons on it. Suggestions?

Best bet is to take the engine apart and clean it. Lube it and then re-assemble. Then just run it. If your compression is shot because of the dirt, you will not be able to get the engine to idle properly. I hate to say it but it's pretty simple, it will either work or it will not.

If you are in OR you should be able to get other fuels. If it is not available locally, get it mail order. You are learning now, do not computers thing by using fuels with nitro %'s that require you to re-shim your engine for it to run properly etc. etc.

b5

Well ,last weekend I threw a b5 pro into my 6T and we have a track here in Aust with big long straight and sweeper bend and you can get some speed done there ,well with the 2013 pipe this thing revs to the moon .can definetly see the 40k plus rpm .

Can definetly say its a awsome truggy engine ,run time wish it was better think I was just under 10mins ,might need to use a 6.5 restrictor and lean out again do I can be comftorable with 10 minute stops ..

Shouldn't take that long. Give them a call, they're good people.

Anything, but not Traxxas.
