Personally I like the werks plugs better, they last a lot longer. Either the #5 or #6.

I think that you are going to find that most people that you speak to that have run our plugs find them to be the best on the market! But if you want to run something else it's just like pipes with our engines, as long as you can attach it (or in the case of plugs, screw it in) you can use it!

I'm at home now so I do not have a pipe in front of me but if memory serves me right I believe it is a 3mm set screw. To double check all that you need to do is either measure the diameter of the hole with a pair of calipers if you have them or simply grap a 3mm allen wrench and insert it in the hole.

It's a 4mm screw.

A brand new rookie here with a question. I have read through this forum and done a search, but could not find the answer I was looking for. I just purchased a B5 Pro today for my new RC8.2. Has anyone tried an Alpha 2090 or 2081 pipe on one? I found a great deal on a new 2090 ($50 locally) and would like to try it, just looking for some feedback.

Can someone tell me what other rear engine bearing tool your are using to remove the rear bearing? My Ofna bearing tool kit seems to be a bit to small to get bite of the inner race.

Hudy, I got one for Christmas and love it. It makes getting bearings out so easy.

Its been said on here many times, you can run any pipe you want with the Werks B5, but if you want the best results out of the motor, than you will want to run one of the Werks pipes, either 2013, 2057 or 2058, if you look back within a few pages you will see a post with the differences in these pipes.

Thats kind of a blanket statement unless its already been tried, isn't it? I was hoping maybe someone had actually tried it, for real world feedback. But nonetheless, I have 2090, and I just ordered 1 each of the Werks pipes, and a B6 Pro to go along with my B5 Pro. (I'm an engine geek, lol) When I'm done testing, I'll be able to verify for myself.

back in the day before Alpha was even out and the B5 was in test phases we found that basically any pipe would work you would have a great advantage with the werks pipes.
I dont believe those pipes you mentioned were even out yet but I do remember trying the 0801 pipe which might be similar. it ran ok as far as power and smoothness goes but had terrible fuel mileage.

It's not really a blanket statement. Guys have tried a lot of different pipes over the years, and have consistently gone back to the 2013/2057/2058. A lot of other engines seem to work well with these exhausts as well. B5/2013 or 2058 for truggy, b6/2058 or 2057 for buggy, and you'll be all set.

Thank you. I had found where people had tried other pipes and said the Werks were better, I just wondered if anyone had tried the 2090 with its changeable venturies. I will find out soon enough.

Just ordered a werks b5 pro. Ron has really impressed me with his outstanding and IMHO industry leading committment to customer service.

Now, a question. Does the ofna 086 pipe work well to smooth out the power band on the b5pro? How does it do on fuel economy? Would a longer header change that performance much?
