I run HB and I run 34mm flywheel no issues at all

as for which clutch you should use that is all personall preferance

on truggy I liked the superlight weight with all alum. shoes and 1.0 springs buggy I like the med. with 2 carbon and 2 alum shoes. again this also depeneds on track conditions I have ran the heavy clutch on my buggy several times as well as a med. clutch on my truggy.

just bought my second b5 and have quick question about break-in.

i've followed the posted break-in method but I think I started with the HS needle a little too rich. during 2-3rd tank doing rolling figure eights its stalled a few times and I had to lean out the LS needle a little to keep running. By the 4-5th tank i started to close the idle gap and do 2 hour leans on LS needle - everything seemed fine by the time I got to about .5mm on the idle gap, but the idle seemed really low. Ran out of light to start tuning HS needle and will resume in the morning. so my question:

what does the idle sound like when its just right when fine tuning the LS needle before starting to put good heat in it and tune the HS? should it be set at about one hour before the engine cuts while idling? Should it be higher, almost to the point its spinning the wheels on the box, but not on ground? I just don't seem to have an ear for the proper idle.

Reason I ask is I always felt like my previous b5 idle was way too high. It was mentioned if the idle gap is too small then the LS needle might be too lean to get a proper idle and hurt the engine. I only got about 3.5 half gallons from it and never got good mileage. The piston and sleeve was sent out for a pinch so I can use it as a back-up -- but I want to make sure I don't make a mistake and set the idle gap too small.

I love the ease of break-in and powerband of the b5 - my first engines were GO-5r and were very finicky - id like my second b5 to get better mileage on my losi 2.0 buggy, maybe 7-8 minutes or better would be good.

I tell u what, I thought I was a good tuner but I must have gotten way outta wack breaking in my b5 pro cause all it did was lean bog, I thought the engine was done so I explained everything to Ron n he told me where to put my needle settings n literally I take the thing out now 5 months later n all I had to so was lean the top 2 hours and she ran so so good I had to take it out to save as my new race engine, Ron is right alot of people may think they can tune n everything else is wrong if it doesn't work exept there own lack of knowing how to tune, I'm glad I knew I was doing something wrong n asked cause I probably was about to be bummed but it all worked out, just so everyone knows flush on bottom needle just in from flush on top n very small idle gap with insert out n u could never have issues. Good on u Ron for knowing your product this well. I also was using a #5 plug, b4 I have n associated rt4 copy of os n I believe that's what caused my tune to get so far off.

set ur idle gap to where with the 7mm venturi in and adjust ur idle screw until u just barley see any gap. that will put u in the pball park...now put both needles to flush and fire up the engine after preheating it. then adj. the low speed until it idles on its own not high but not super low to where it could die out. rev the engine between the low speed adj. as when the engine loads up it will give u a false lsn setting

Hey guys I'm seriously looking at the B5 Pro for truggy. Just wondering what the major differences were between the standard and the pro? Is it just smoother or actually make more power?

When it comes to the Pro versus standard engines I like to say that they simply do everything a little bit better. They spool up a little bit faster, they use a little bit less fuel, they have a little bit more top end. Look at them as a refined, improved version of the standard engines.

P.S. MY WIFE IS MY PIT GIRL AND SHE LIKES THAT I DONT HAVE FLAMEOUTS AND TUNEING PROBLEMS AND THAT MAKES THIS HOBBIE ALOT OF FUN FOR US. http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/581...ruggychamp.jpg
