Idle gap

The bog from a standing start is usally caused by to fat of bottom. you should be able to sit at idle to the count of ten nail it and take off like a bat out of hell.

Check out the pics of the air gap now. The gap is the same in all pics, just shot a few to try to get the best view.

I've run thru tank 11 and have lessened the bog off idle by leaning my lsn and reducing the air gap. I've not yet ran w/ the air gap this small (in pics), will do it during tank #12. I expect to have to lean my lsn evenmore to maintain the idle and hopefully the off idle bog will go away. I did also richen my HSN by 3 hours since I was probably overcompensating (possibly lean up top) because of such a rich low.

Not sure if the old and new carbs are the same, but now my idle gap is just larger than the indent which aligns w/ the notch on the slide inside the barrel.

mark, i'd buy one if i weren't broke. if you come to SRS this wed, bring my pipe! i wanna try it now that i got the fuel tank issues fixed on my buggy.

had a great time racing at the nitro pit yesterday, and the B5 is still bangin away at the 4 1/2 to 5 gal mark.

Marshon50, I think you are going in the right direction. Like I said before think your idle gap was just to open and you were overcompensating with a really rich botttom causing your low end bog and loading up at idle . The idle gap will be very small. And from your previous pic it was way to big.. ..Let us know how it goes next tank.

OK, get this new mill tomorrow(fingers crossed, storm comming through) anybody know what other carb inserts will fir the B5 carb? I have alot of GRP tuned inserts, wondering if they will fit the Werks B5 carb? I don't know if the werks inserts are expensive or not, so if I can fit the GRP ones to the works could save me some coin, witch would be awesome:nod:

i have the older B5 i know grp and Os inserts do not fit, yours should have the new carb and they are a different.Maybe the new carb would accept the Grp inserts. Ron would have to get you the new part #'s

If youve got a good idle now dont mess with the LSN or idle screw. Everything else is done with the HSN. The reason you still have some bog on the bottom is cause if you richend the top up your to fat. Like I said in my previous post you need to lean at least 2 hours up top and then run it and lean out an hour at a time until you get the tune you want.

Ive been running a JP3 pipe with my B5 and was pleased with both runtimes and performance. Last wk I bought a 2013 and must report that the pipe hype is true. More power, runtime, and it sounds awesome. I got over 11 min (buggy) on a slick, tight track. Not one second of buyers remorse from pipe or motor. Thanks

Ive got a B5 on its way to me this week and I can't wait:nod: What 2013 did you get and where? Amain has the werks on BO:flaming: im wondering if the Orion 2013 is compatible.

Team_Orange 02-08-2010 07:05 PM

the orion 2013 is the same as the werks 2013

Werks pipes will be in stock next week at A-Main If you back order now you can lock one in for next week. Also the 2057 WERKS pipe should be coming out soon. These pipes both are Killer. SO if you can wait a week you can have a matching pipe/engine set.
