and/or......the crank bushing/crank pin tolerance may be so precise that removal is difficult
|
its really just the long rod design. its normal on this engine. once you get it the second time wont be a problem.

EB Mods JS
Tyler is pretty excited to test the JS .21 in his MBX6 and JS .23 in his MBX6T
We will report back with results. Will be hard to do alot of testing with it being winter now. But, we are going to run them any chance we get. I talked with Joe and he gave us some info to go on. Thanks Joe again and will give you a decision soon. |
What is the price tag on the .23?

Hey Joe,
Has Ed done any dyno work on the .23 (I'm sure he has)? How's the output compared to the .21? Rev just as well???? Might pick one up for next season. You have them in stock? |

New Zealand Champs

I recently had a good result at the New Zealand National Champs. I finished 14th in Truggy using a stock JS .21. Unfortunately I missed out on the main final due to a throttle servo problem. I needed to be in the top 12 to get in to the hour long final so missed out by two spots:cry:
I was very happy with the power and economy of the JS. Maybe next year:nod: |

where are most of you guys at with you needle settings with the stock engine. Mine is out of whack
|
Just wanted to add my 2 cents about the JS race prepped engine. I LOVE it!! Now, my driving still needs work....LOTS of work! BUT, with the race prepped engine, I managed to place 2nd in my last race (Main in sportsman buggy). As I said, I need to work on my driving, but when everyone else was coming into the pit to refuel, I stayed out for another 2 or 3 laps each time.
Great mileage AND great power! What more could I ask for?? |

Well I just recieved my .23 yesterday. Today I went out to raceworlds indoor track for the grand opening and I must say very nice. I ran a p4 plug and the 30% pro blend and was getting almost 10 min run times and I havnt even started leaning it out yet. I put an re-10 on it and am very happy with it I qualified 2nd and won the A.
Thanks again to Ed and JP. JDUB |

I found I had to take the pinch bolt completely out in order to get the carb out so give that a try. |

Yes, I have the same problem. I also have found that my carb is sticking while on the throttle. It is not smoothly pulling out. Has anyone had this problem?
Also any tears to the carb boot could also let debris in and bind/gum things up a bit. |

My first 2 races (race days) were great with my Race Prepped EB Mods engine. Unfortunately, that was not the case today. After a few practice laps, I noticed that my car was not quickly responding to my throttle. It was not bogging down, but just not going as soon as pulled the trigger. Well....that was the case about every 4th or 5th "pull".
After tweaking the tuning, I went back out for another quick lap before the track went hot for my first qualifier of the day. Track went hot as I neared the line and my car, I THOUGHT, stalled. My pit man grabbed it and I couldn't understand why he kept motioning for me to try to give it gas. Was sure he should be able to tell that it was not running...but it WAS running. The carb had seized in the closed position and I could not race....at least not that race, and not at all with that engine. I've heard of a few others having carb problems with their JS engines, but I've got less than a gallon through this engine and can't understand why I would have this problem so early on. Of course today's race was a big one, and a "pay race", at that! ...hence the extra frustration, but I guess that's when bad things are worse!! :( I'll get over it, as soon as I fix this problem. Any ideas?? Can I get the carb replaced easily enough?? Is there another carb that would fit while I wait?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! |
