EB Mods JS Engine
Has anyone heard anything about JS engines? I did a search but nothing came up. I assume they must be good if EB is willing to put his name on them. Thank you for your time

Ed - You and JP at HHQ tomorrow? Trying to figure out what to do - couldn't make Madness for the 2 day race. The NASCAR race is at Pocono tomorrow...so the drive out on Rt 80 should really suck

If all goes well tomorrow i'll be running it at RCP rd.2 at blue diamond. ;) |
anything Ed Does will be awesome I can wait to get me one my eb mod go's always turned heads at the track.
|
Hi Ed,
Are these engines being manufactured in Taiwan or Malaysia? Also, how will the material quality hold up? Hopefully the rod will hold up better in the JS's than they did in the Go Techs (shelve Go Tech's, not EBmods). Good luck with your new venture! |
Engine sure does look cool.
|
The JS ran flawless all weekend.. I see alot of potential with this engine, as I have barely scratched the surface with setup, and it's already awesome. :)

JS Engine First Outing
Hey guys...
I just wanted to post my experience with JS engine from this past weekend's Pro Series race at Blue Diamond. To start off with, I've been running a EB Full Modded Ninja JX the past couple months. I absolutely love that engine and have nothing bad to say about it other than it's probably a little touchy and can be difficult to drive on loose surfaces. Dropping a JS engine in, and it being a sample (not a production engine), I was a little skeptical on pulling out a JX. I have to say, I couldn't be more happy that I put that engine in my car. Setup was in my 8ight 2.0B... Drake and Truhe's normal clutch setup with steel flywheel, 7mm restrictor, and a Dynamite 086 pipe. To my big surprise, the very first tank on the track with Ed timing, we got 9:50 before it ran out of gas. That was with the engine big time rich. We didn't get to do another timed run after tuning as practice was picking up and traffic was heavy. The engine is super super smooth and very easy to drive. I know it made me faster cuz the car was much easier to handle. I was lucky enough to get to run against Billy Fischer and we ran head to head all weekend long. Billy's best run only beat me by 5 seconds on the clock and we hot lapped within .008 seconds of eachother. The engine can run with the best. I qualified 2nd on the grid behind Billy, but unfortunately didn't get to finish the main. I had a carbon clutch shoe break causing the clutch to seize. :flaming: The JS that I ran was just a Race Prepped engine. It also has over 100 dyno runs on it and I'm sure some of those pulls have seen over 40k rpm. It's also not modded in any way shape or form. It's the basic way the engine would come out of the package. I cannot wait to test an engine that's fully modded. Sorry for rambling guys. I'm pumped about the new engine and Ed is working his tail off to make sure the final product is perfect. You will not be disappointed. |

So when will we be able to order them? I may get 2 for the losi 8b and 8t 2.0. I seen some pics and i actually really like the look? Does it have a drilled head and different carb inserts? Thanks guys!!!

motor
If it is made in Taiwan it is made by GO or STS if you look at the carb slide close it is gold like the new GO's but if you look at the case it is not a rebadged engine.

JS IS A SEPERATE COMPANY MAKING DIFFERENT MOTORS THAT EB IS IMPORTING. |
[QUOTE=megasaxon;6203472]well the 'gold' carb slide was a feature that Ed came up with, for GO, so maybe THAT'S why its there. Its already been said that its not a GO or an STS. My Reedy engine is made in Taiwan, does that mean its made by Go or STS? Hell no, design in the US and manufactured in Taiwan by Thunder Tiger. Why does a motor from Taiwan have to be made by a company you already know about? New motor companies never show there faces anymore?
JS IS A SEPERATE COMPANY MAKING DIFFERENT MOTORS THAT EB IS IMPORTING.[/QUOT you can tell it is not a Thunder Tiger but I think your wrong. Do you know how much it costs to produce a Micro Motor from the grond up? Alot more than they will make. |

Factory web site... www.jsracing-model.com but not much info yet. This is a new engine factory that the GO factory introduced me to before the Motorama event. As I expressed my interest in importing my own engine line for 2010. So JS and myself have been working on this engine ever since... It takes a very long time to draw, machine, test, re-draw, re-machine, test when making a new engine. So please be patient as we prepare for production on the final product I will be posting all the spec's and pic's. I rest my case.... |
motor

I rest my case,I just want to know who makes the motor, because I know it is not a company called JS that is going to come out with one .21 buggy motor and spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on the equiptment to make a single engine.
|
You might be right but who said this would be the only motor they will make?
If I was starting a motor company, the first motor I would market (besides plane motors) would be offroad .21 motors. They are far easier to get right then onroad motors where shear horsepower is everything but people still expect them to last. I'd get my feet wet with offroad motors and take a LOT of time developing before I sold the first onroad motor. Just look at GRP. They came out with everything at once. Lots of people seem to love the offroad motors but most onroad racers wouldn't run one if you gave it to them. They should have done a little more homework first. |

I'm sure Ed can clear it all up, but i'm sure he wants to wait till he has a complete press release ready |

who says there is only gonna be 1 engine? I would think that other versions of the engine will show themselve, you have to give it time. Have to be settled on product #1 before you start on product #2.

I guess this is a Dumb question. WHY OR WHAT DOES IT MATTER WHO MAKES THE ENGINE? If its good its good.

Go Tech learned from their mistakes and now is including an extra con'rod in their GX Series. |

Why would a company starting to make engines want to invest all possible machinery just to get things done inhouse ? Does RB make everything on their own ? In Taiwan there is a bunch of capable companies where one can source parts as per spec. It's more down to being able to define the specs and needed materials in a correct level.

Because of quality, tolerance, material and longevity. Italy has Taiwan and Malaysia beat in these categories. The Asian motors might be "good", but need to step it up a notch.
Go Tech learned from their mistakes and now is including an extra con'rod in their GX Series. Its the person behind the project that knows the quality dont forget that .We make our rims out of du pont nylon but we import it into china from the usa because china has copies of material like what they call there fake pa66 which is rubbish. But we make the highest quality of rim in the world period but its not china that does it its the people behind it all . Were do you think Novarossi pipes and headers come from .were do you think novarossi bearings come from .taiwan but its the people behind it all at novarossi with there quality control that make it all happen with the quality . I have a friend who owns a panel shop and works on ferraris and let me tell you once those panels come of those cars even the interior it never goes on like it should again you have to kick the door trims on. So what im trying to say is quality is everywhere as long as the person knows what they are doing . Not putting down anybody just putting my point across. Ive seen the JS engine run here in Australia with Ian haley and it has run time ,its fast and it will only get better . So who cares who makes it and what country its made from.Only care that it is a Good motor that will give others a run for there money and it's 100% quality . |
