I've seen the new .21 and drove it. Smooth bottom end power yet strong and revs for days. Unbelievable, was running on a P4 and an 086.

And now we're waiting for THE Announcment, EB Mods style. It's rumored the Speed Channel has paid for the exclusive rights to broadcast, right in between Barrett Jackson and Pinks on primetime TV... Can't wait to see the new products! Drumroll please...

jbright33 10-09-2010 08:14 PM

I am officially back in the USA, but Jet Lag is killing me today. Wasn't so bad when I was in Taiwan, but today I fell like I had 30 shots of Jack Daniels. lol Please give me a few days to get the news ready. :)

All the engine threads (onroad and offroad) got moved into this exclusive thread. Some of us aren't too happy about it :D

No worries Ed, take your time and rest up. Just trying to keep the buzz going on this page until the curtain is lifted. Worldwide distribution is huge, and congrats on that:nod:

i saw that amain had them but there wasn't a size. if i'm goin to change them then i'm going to put ceramics in. i don't think the js bearings on amain r ceramic.

I'm looking for factory needle settings on the non-modded JS. I'm sure it's on the thread somewhere, just thought someone could give me a quick answer. I think I have her a little lean up top and rich on the bottom.

Thanks,

Greg B.

greg try starting with idle 1 1/4 turn from just closed(might be little high once engine is warmed up good and if motor is broken in good) half turn in on top from flush and half turn in on bottom from flush should get you started.

mc_chofo 10-18-2010 07:59 PM

Aren't supossed this engines to be broken in already? Jus got one but haven't received it yet. I tought they are ready to race

EBMods Box Settings
Idle: 1-1/4 from just closed.
HSN: 1/2 turn in from flush
LSN: half urn in from flush

the idle is just about perfect at 1-1/4, and shouldn't need more than 1/8 in either direction to achieve the optimum tune. The cold idle will actually seem hi after a minute on the box but once its on the track for a few minutes and EVERYTHING get up to temp the idle drops and its perfect.

the race preps and full mods come ready to race tune, but continue to loosen up throughout the first gallon.
for example.. i put a brand new race prep in and fire it up, then I race tune immediately, then it gets raced hard all day, then i go home :)

Thanks Joe

jbright33 10-19-2010 08:17 PM

JS's?

How's the power output vs the .21? I have the chance to pick up a NIB race prep .21 for very decent price. Wondering if I should snag it...??

For the record, I think the original S7 what square stroke as well. Should provide nice linear power throughout with maybe slightly less top end but make slightly better bottom.

the 23 has more bottom and top compared to the 21. i switch between the 2 depending on track conditions. I cant qoute on the s7 cause iv never owned one.

ok guys I have a problem. At my last race my stock engine flamed a few times so I decided to inspect the engine. well it didnt take long to find out that the outside front bearing race was all messed up. So I decided to change it out. I took the head off, took off the back plate and pushed the sleeve out. Now the problem, For some reason I cant get the rod off the crank. Usually on other engines I just use a hook tool to pull the rod off the crank and then slide out the crank. but this engine for some reason will not allow me to do that. Any suggestions?

hmm sounds like maybe you should send it to edd

alexrckid 10-22-2010 06:21 PM

sometimes, many times, the end of the crank pin builds up a little burr that makes it a bit difficult to get the rod off.....a bit of persuasion does the trick. some of the burr may actually be fuel/lube residue. and, needless to say, make sure that the cranks deeply seated...............i've had this deal with other make engines........

with the sleeve out and the piston at tdc you should be able to stick your pointer finger in and pull it out from the bottom. no tools please!
