By reading your signature I'm sure you know this but...go easy on her for that first gallon and then ease into the race tune after YOUR first gallon and she will last a loooooong time. I didn't think preheating was that important but I followed Monty's advice and I have always preheated my motor before every start and at at 4 gallons I still have a hard time turning the motor over by hand when its cold. no mechanical pinch just tons of compression.

RC CARS ARE COOL!!!

You didn't happen to notice if it was running backwards or not did you?

Wait till you put one one the starter box one day and spin it over without he igniter and it fires off, that will also get your attention.

I have had one fire off without an igniter on it before. I had my ignitor on the plug, took it off to prime the motor on the box and it fired. Only happened once but it sure was cool.

I also watched a buddy put his ignitor on last week and it almost turned over with out a box. A loud pop. must have been just enough nitro left in the chamber from previous run.

I had a SH motor (i know what your thinking but I needed a motor quick and got it used already broke in) that sounded like it would backfire when it was cold. Never ran backwards but the smoke rings from the pipe got everyone's attention.

Didn't notice which way it was turning, as I was putting it on its side to start it but the bump start was still in my hand and not near the car! Still kinda funny and weird. Hopefully it doesn't happen in a race because I know my pit guy would either run like a chicken or pass out like a girl thinking it was possessed!

Hey Monty, is there any difference between crank shaft on the original plus 21-4 and the plus 21-4 BTT? They have 2 different part numbers. If there is a difference, what would that be?

Not any differences that you would likely feel in performance Veno

Also wanting to have it fully set up where I can just drop it on and finish running it in. So I want pipe, another Bu Ku and a clutch bell, so if you can get me a few prices with shipping to Vietnam I would greatly appreciate it.

Now for the blow your mind crap that just happened. I just fired up my B2 for the first time and it was too rich so it died a few times about the third time it died I put on the igniter and it popped off! I am not joking, I did NOT use the bump box, just put the igniter on and it was dead, no sound, not dying, but DEAD. It freaked me out I never seen that crap happen before, so I yelled for my wife and just as she came in it died again and I put the igniter on and it fired right off with my bump box not being used. Have you EVER had that happen to you before? It just totally blew my mind.
I have seen one fire on a box without igniter after a long run ran out of fuel and while pitman 2 was grabbing igniter pitman 1 put in on the box to get fuel pressure up and brappppp! Plug must have been still lit. In your case must have been just about to combust when you shut it off and just needed fire to explode mixture. Anyway that would have been cool catch on video!

Well I put my first race on my HES tuned X3L and I hope I didn't push it too much but did have about 3/4 gallon fuel thru it before race. I started out super rich and the track was loose so it worked well but only 170f and 2 quali. leaned it a couple hrs on hsn to get temps up ran better 210f and moved up to 4th place. And finally 3 qual. leaned it one more hr on both lsn/hsn to get more temp/power since the track got nice and ended up starting 3rd 215f. In the last run it sounded great on bottom but top was rich so I just leaned it 2 hrs. hsn and I had the race won but traction rolled in off camber on last lap and my friend Eric took it! I tuned a little after race and I had to go almost flush on top and little below on lsn to really get it up to 250f but during the race there were a couple times I had to pull it hard to get nose up on some bad jumps also flipped over and cleaned it out without thinking just a habit hope shes OK. I have a btt and I really like the way this motor feels better with good runtime for it being rich still also it got some attention from other racers in my area so don't be surprised if a few diehard nitro guys here in Savannah start making orders! Thanks HES!

I'm getting ready to install a Buku clutch on my plus 4 with the 17011 bearing I installed. The clutch is in the mail. I know there are some clearance issue with the buku clutch and the AE 8.2 and I am waiting for Buku to release their 2mm set back engine mount. In the mean time I have found the shortest flywheel collet in my parts bin. Should I install a shim between the front bearing and collet to raise it off of the inner bearing race?

its a very "balanced" setup Kijana

you can get more power but it will provide awesome drivability and fantastic mileage

fyi : i have been testing and trust me when i say the 2096 has a leg up on the 2013 and 2058 with these engines , more mileage , more drivability
