Buggy qual'd 3rd ended up 3rd after 2 flame outs in main , i am still breaking in that special X5 sooooo well we all know how that goes when an engine drops its nuts in a main:cry:

You had a good & fun weekend... Awesome, That's what it's about!

Monty - what are the main differences in how the 2096 runs vs. the 9901?

megasaxon 07-03-2012 09:59 AM

Houston, are you familiar with the old RB S7 engines? what pipes work best on it?

Chris Reilly 07-03-2012 12:03 PM

I would say a RB 9863 or 9886. Probably with a long header.

If i recall correctly the rb 9863 was the killer pipe for that engine buttttt there has been some advancement in pipe technology soooo a lil experimentation wouldnt hurt

I would try 2096ss or rb 2045 i believe it is , it wasnt a torque monster sooo it might also help if running in truck to try 9853ss/41021

9901ss/41021 seems to have a lil more instant torque but doesnt hit in the mid or runout as hard as 2096ss/41021

Monty, a couple of weeks ago i tore down my p5xlt and replaced the front and rear bearing, cleaned everything and reassembled. I notice my pinch wasnt as tight so i reduced my head shimming to .70 when i rebuilt it. Engine runs killer but it seems like a fuel hog now. I was getting 8.5-9 minutes in my buggy without a problem, but i ran out of a fuel in a 7 minute race on sunday. What gives? any thoughts?

let me guess , tim wallace ?

Your actions speak for who you are , nuff said

Engines are very hard to get reliable until they are fully broke in , my only fault was trying to run an engine that wasnt broke in all the way , you feel better now ?

Looking for your input on a motor for my truggy, our track has some tight turns with big jumps and not a lot of room to get speed. Need something with a lot of low-mid power.
