Monty, I have a P5 an I don't think it's dropped it's nuts after 2 .25 gallons. What are the needle setting you start with on that engine. When you were talking about using a .6mm drill bit forthe idle, is that with the Venturi in or out. Thank for all your help. And when do you suggest I should send it to ya for some Dr. Check up and maybe filled crank.
Just checked my needles, and hsn is flush, and LSN is 5 1/2

Check gap with venturi out. Just had a conversation with Monty last night about LSN and HSN needle settings on my plus 4. Turn your LSN to 4.5 out from bottom and your HSN 4 turns out from bottom (approx flush) THat should get you in the ball park and go from there. I was approx 4.75 turns out from bottom on my LSN and Monty was surprised I was getting performance with the fat tune I had on it.

Thanks. I didnt know if they were the same or not

No personal experience here with those pipes on that engine. What I've read about that engine is it has less bottom end power than the older plus4 sleeve design but more top end. My first pipe choice would b a 9853 to make up for the lack of bottom. The 9853 pipe doesn't offer as much runtime as others but apparently that engine has plenty of runtime to spare.

I'm running the 9901 on my HES Btt and it runs well, plenty of rip to clear short run up jumps. I love a motor with good bottom end, but the plus 4 Btt w/ a 9901 is pretty smooth, and I am getting killer run times on a medium sized track (11 minute pit stops) Havn't had a chance to pick up a 2096 to run yet, but I here its pretty smooth but powerful too.

Monty any input on this matter ? What the different between those two and which one is better ? Thanks

All plus4 love the 9901ss/41021

Great balance of power/runtime ;)

2096ss/41021 will provide a lil smoother low end and a lil more top end runout

You cant go wrong with either really

When changing pipes I know the HSN will need a little tune, does the LSN generally need to be tuned again as well?

I can't live without my HES p5's. The absolute best engine work.

It's the best peace in my buggy.
