21-5k were good engines , heavier crank created a smooth ramp up but port design was designed for torque , well rounded engine

Fyi: keep a close eye on the rear bearing , replace with 16004 when its time

hi Monty,i'v recently installed one of your new FUSION X7X engines into my XT8 truggy,beautiful engine indeed:nod::nod:,just a couple of questions,roughly how much fuel are you guys running through them before you are ready for final [race] tunes;what is the ideal nitro content for x7x engine[with your shim setting]what carb restrictor/manifold/pipe,would you suggest"for best bottom end "pop"
i run Meccamo 25%,around 1.5 gallons so far,pipes i have;reedy 2035,RB 2045,all rb manifolds,AXE 2050,OPS 2010 adjustable square manifold,Alpha 2090 variable tip size,Nova long & short manifolds,any thoughts on those or suggestions will be greatly appreciated,and passed on to the growing army of FUSION X Engine owners down under

You will love the Fusion line mate! They are something else!!

I have found that around 3-4ltrs is the sweet spot, but every engine is different, one may take you 6ltrs and the next might take you 2ltrs, best to take every motor as they come!:nod:

As for pipes, the 9901 is a great all round pipe, but i think the 2096 has a touch more bottom (from what i have heard any ways).

You will have no problems with bottom end on these lil motors they are super punchy for a 7port!!:nod:

I lent a stock X7 to a local truggy racer here in WA to test with a 9901 and short manifold and he LOVED it!!!!!!! Said the bottom was way more than the motors he used to run (wont say the brand but a well known manufacturer). He bought a HES xtreme after that to really test the strength of his truggys drive line!!:nod::lol:

Cant go wrong with the Fusions..........

Welll scott , your clutch and a free drivetrain is very important as well but I have personally been using the 9901ss/41021 combo with the X7 in the truck .

If you are gonna run 25% I would drop the shimming .10mm or leave it and run 30% like they should be ran with , :lol:

The 9853ss pipe is known for the super punchy low end , just let Dave know if you need anything

good info,thank you,i'll switch to 30%,and pick up both pipes in the near future,
x-ray have an excellent free spinning drive train and i usually run the Fioroni 4 shoe on various settings depanding on track quality,thanks again.
