I need the best combo for P5X in truggy, I know the engine has great bottom but is lacking on the top. What combo will give the engine the legs it needs down the straight and still keep good runtime?

Monty. You got a PM

Ok..I just bought a BONITO for my STRR Evo. Do I want to run the 2096/21 combo or the 9853/21 combo. Which pipe is better for that engine and truggy combo. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each pipe.

pretty happy with 2096ss pipe

the 9901ss seemd to work great on the boneytoe in the truck also either 41021 or 41020 headers

Thanks for the support guys , you rock!

Monty, how do you think the 2096 pipe will work with the RB engines? Compared to the RB 2045 and 2087.

aznitronut 10-17-2011 07:34 PM

Also, which header would you suggest? 20? what about the 30 header?

bentgear 10-17-2011 09:09 PM

Houston, I know you got to be tired of pipe/header questions "but", setting up my spare dirt oval car for someone to use this weekend. Always ran a plus 4 on it with 9901/41021 but it shat its guts thru the exhaust after 10+ gallons last weekend. Going to have to use a N21R purple head 3 port that Jim worked on a few years back. Problem is the pipe header combo. What i always used with it has disappeared out of the box.
Track will be short, most likely around 150 ft run line. Car is setup to drive thru the corners and power off, not do the drifting stuff.
Pipes available are:
9901 41005 - 41020 - 41021
Dynamite platinum 053 MR stk header
JP 3. Stk header
JP 4. Stk header
normally I would just test, but since this is a bigger race time will be limited. Can ya help a guy get his oval fix?

The jp-3 will provide the most rpm out of those pipes , jp-3 not too bad , usually not too great on mileage though

9901ss /41021 would be my next choice

For overall grunt and rpm I would recommend putting the 41005 on the 053mr though , probably what I would use

Fyi , check the rod in that n21r limited ;)

bentgear 10-18-2011 01:34 PM

Thanks Houston, thought you might say the 053. I had already dropped it in the sonic cleaner last night.

I think the rod in this one has already been replaced but I will doulbe check tonight.

Rock n Roll !

Trying a .23 novarossi configuration I came up with in truggy this weekend , got high hopes for this setup

What do you guys think about if I spec out an X3 race ? Pretty much what I have been building for a lot of guys but prebuilt from the factory ;)
