Houstons Engine Service H.E.S.

No, I was wanting to but it there were pretty thin there yesterday - I think it was too cold for most and it was cold - the track is getting pretty nasty too -
Scott will be re-doing it on Monday for the ETC Series running next Sunday -
Sat will be packed with Electric practicing - I think a good Truggy day
- not sure if we'll get to race or not - if enough 1/8 electric show-up we will -
He'll be closing the track on the 14th - for a new roof going on the place
- the shop will be open for those having needs -
Hopefully the track will re-open right before/after Christmas so we can all play with our toys -
I'll be in touch soon with some questions - I'll just give you a call when I have a free evening -
Happy Holidays!!

[QUOTE=houston;6684231]Drawbacks ; you will cause more stress to the rod/wristpin by leaving the compression where it is at , especially during break in . This will also create more predetination resulting in more carbon build up and making the plugs foul out more often . Although you can get away with running the engine as it comes just fine , you can make it better by adding the shim.
Benefits: smoother power ( plus 4 has the shim already added
) , you will also gain runtime by adding the shim , more efficient operation of the engine by less predetination and pretty much the opposite of what I said in previous paragraph zixxer.
These recommendations more for running 30% fuel which is for the most part what we here in america run
i have a question about the nova .21 bf i was running 25% nitro for a while.
and im running 20% byrons fuel should i remove one shim since its
shimmed for 25% , and also i only have 1 gallon of fuel and 1 quart of
fuel in the engine and i can turn the flywheel with my finger and turn
the piston over is that fine already i dont have much fuel run though it
it was pretty tight not to long ago i had to use the heat gun to
get it to loosen up.

dont confuse pinch and compression

it is better during the break in period to be overshimmed for sure . if you are running 20% , leave stock shimming and use a hotter plug such as odo77 or 100 . if you like nova plugs us ultra c5g , if you like mccoy use mc59 or mc8

Picked a used 21 NR or JP based. Black case, green head. All case markings milled off except made in italy. There are 8 ports visible like skinny then square all the way around 2 lower ports. Crank & turbo cut way enlarged and polished. The crank seem like it wasn't done by the guy that did a very basic light flow porting, A little rough but didn't get carried away at all I cleaned it up by hand.

my h.e.s. tuned n21bf isn't hard to tune at all and i'm a newbie. don't hesitate to get mr. monty to mod yours. while he's at it, he can probably check your engine internals out and get it back to you in tip-top shape if there's anything wrong.
