nova ones come in blue , black and white . i have seen some that were made of a different material also , they were harder than the standard soft silicone .

the ones i get are typically blue

Hey guys,

hi Monty, just a small question after Trevors's comment, well, i normally change rods after 3 gallons, but how can you say that the rod has gone bad or still good to go?? 6 gallons sounds great man...just tell me the way to inspect or what to look for.

cheers

Ali

just manually check rod slop and measure the crankpin diameters . engines will last a long time if you keep your filter very very clean and sealed up well . take a new crank/rod and see how much side deflection and oil gap there is . then judge how much you have by taking your findings and compare to the new one , good common sense will tell you if it is really wore out or not ;)

one guy on here had a little dgree measurement he used when looking at the rod flop in degrees .

Over the year's of trying all the different brands ive come to realize Rb and Nova's are the best for that config.....the Jpx/Picco lineup has the motor side beat tho....its a Simple piece of silicone tubing and lasts 10X longer then any regular style....but that's only on picco/jpx and only the motor side......for the pipe i feel its very Important to make sure the pipe hanger is only supporting the pipe and not pulling it or tweeking out the connection's between the pipe/header and the header/block....ive seen it all too many time's where a pipe/header seal is all torn and cock eyed and the user is confused why the chassis is soaked in fuel and the motor wont run right.
