Hi Monty name is Matt Wilcox from Omaha NE. I purchased one of your motors from Quinton Martin one of our local racers and he said you did the work on this Toro Nero .21 I ran the motor this last weekend and had a couple issues after David Mills helped me tune it proper. It was difficult to start and Quinton claimed the motor could do 12+min runtime. I could only get 8.5. I was wondering if this was because of the cold it was like 40 degrees there I had installed a new 97t plug and its got the 053 pipe. Am I doing something wrong or is there something wrong with the motor? We are travelling to Texas for the proseries finals and dont want any problems any help would be much appreciated

12 min. Runtimes would be extremely good

I would say you should expect a good 9 min. Out of the engine with a proper tune

Did you pre prime the fuel line ?

That engine is badass !!!!

blktransam 10-21-2009 12:08 PM

yes Monty I am serious :( its out of our hands so I dont know what else to do besides sit and wait....

I did what I always do and held the pipe nipple and bumped it on the box. That engine is badass first time out i won the 09' Jammin Nitro Challange in truggy. It ran great once i got it going I wasnt sure if the 40 degree outside temp had anything to do with it or if you could think of anything else that could have been wrong. i just pitted at 7:30 just to be safe but would love to see more min in runtime. Quinton claimed 12 minutes and I wasnt sure if that was realistic or not. but like i said i wanna run the motor at the finals but wanted to be sure there were no problems you could think of that would make for a catastrophic week in texas. especially with the hard starting i can drive my way around short runtimes:tire::tire: but the motor should start way easier

blktransam 10-21-2009 01:03 PM

well 40 outside compared to 90's is def. going to drop runtime down a bit due to having to run the engines richer...

As long as it is running consistent I really don't think there is a problem with the engine .

I am sure there isn't much fuel ran through that engine so I would say it is good . Quintin took good care of his stuff .

Hi I have a new rb s3 conrod and was wondering if it would work in a nova n21bf limited ? thanks.

is there anything else you can think of that would cause the hard starting issue like i said i am not quite as worried about the runtime and i agree there is probably nothing wrong except the cold and richer settings but what else could cause hard start? new glow plug fully charged ignitor new fuel line what else is there
