engine being preheated around 200? with the colder temps that would be helpfull if the engine is still "newer" and I see alot of coldblooded novas/rbs...

is there anything else you can think of that would cause the hard starting issue like i said i am not quite as worried about the runtime and i agree there is probably nothing wrong except the cold and richer settings but what else could cause hard start? new glow plug fully charged ignitor new fuel line what else is there

Usually low fuel pressure , clogged high end needle

what would be the proper way to check/clean the high end needle and besides a leak what could cause low fuel pressure the truck is brand new and tank seals perfect, new or different fuel line maybe

I was not preheating the engine i can admit that. could that have been all it was? because like i said once running nothing on the track could touch this engine

Pre-Heating a motor...even a well broken in one will benefit...you can go hammer on it a lot sooner then the guy next to you who has to go from bone cold to running temp while your already 1/2 way there if not more.

you should definitely preheat the engine in colder weather , especially if engine still has pinch .

so you like the engine then ? ;)

the tuned 3 port is running wonderfully. that engine is really awesome for the price. it's right around 2 gallons now and i couldn't be happier with its performance. i put in a race tune on it this past weekend for the first time and i ended up winning the race. will be sending it to you soon for a check up and some of that added shimming for more fuel economy and smoother response.

the 5 port i haven't used in the last couple of weeks since i haven't been able to replace that o-ring yet. still haven't received it in the mail :(. hopefully it gets here this week so i can use it to race this weekend. but yea, the power on the thing is awesome. that crank that you put in made a noticeable difference. something happens in the midrange on that engine where it just suddenly starts pullinnngg craazy. :D

Hi

Will adding shims make a better mileage?

Cheers

umm.. from what i've seen monty say before, adding a lil more than what i have there now would make just a bit more mileage and give the engine smoother response. this is for the n21bf though and i don't know if it applies to other engines.
