Will adding shims make a better mileage?

Cheers

To a certain extent , going past the .90mm mark on nova engines will not benefit the engine .. and keep in mind the piston/sleeve set must still have really really good compression .

the tuned 3 port is running wonderfully. that engine is really awesome for the price. it's right around 2 gallons now and i couldn't be happier with its performance. i put in a race tune on it this past weekend for the first time and i ended up winning the race. will be sending it to you soon for a check up and some of that added shimming for more fuel economy and smoother response.

the 5 port i haven't used in the last couple of weeks since i haven't been able to replace that o-ring yet. still haven't received it in the mail :(. hopefully it gets here this week so i can use it to race this weekend. but yea, the power on the thing is awesome. that crank that you put in made a noticeable difference. something happens in the midrange on that engine where it just suddenly starts pullinnngg craazy. :D

My tuned 3 ports come shimmed at .80mm already

Getting very busy , hope I can keep up

Monty

You doing anything for the plus 4c? I have 2 gallons on it now and have put it up for the next race season. Have my 8 gallon plus 4 back in the truggy. I did notice not as good of mileage from the C as expected. Getting 10.5 from the C compared to 11.5 from the reg +4. Is this normal? Same pipe header combo. Is 2 gallons to early to tell? Seems I was getting better at 2 gallons with the plus 4. Anyway, any massaging possibilities or are the C's massaged enough?

The C already has some crankwork done over the plus4 . Timing advances and different design in the fuel exit portal of the crank. The sleeves I am not sure if there are port heighth differences yet or not , I need to measure them up . As with almost any engine there is room for handfinishing , if it is necessary then I do it if it is well enough then it gets left alone .

As far as the mileage diff. , that's hard to answer as there are always so many variables .
If the engine still has pinch you will most likely not get as good of mileage as an engine that just has great compression .

so you like the engine then ? ;)

Yes you did ryan . Three keys to running in , preheat , do not over rev, piston free from pinch zone when cooling engine . Also use high quality fuel such as byrons

Thanks for letting me know the engine got there ryan , I was getting a little worried .

STRR is a great ride, all summer of driving my mp9 and in the first race with my STRR I was almost as fast as my buggy, in the second race I was as fast as my buggy times. I just picked the truggy up a month ago, so had very limited drive time. It is a great truggy. very happy with mine.

Monty probably drives his a little faster than me though.lol:)

I love kyosho products and the st-rr is no exception .
