I know my rod will last as long as the motor which is prob. Only going to go 3-5 gallons but that is fine with me used to run 300+ dollar motors and put new piston and sleeves in them but with the price of the disco motor i eill just run them till they wont run and then junk them no more rebuilds will be nice to have freshy every once in a while my curreny disco is flying with great run time idle is tricky but worth the tinkering for rest of performance

Hey guys, need a little help. I have a brand new Tebo WC edition. I messed with the needle settings when I was sealing the engine. I put them back to where they were(or so I thought), but now im second guessing myself on the correct settings. Can somebody please be so kind to post the factory settings for Idle,LSN, and HSN?
Maybe im just being paranoid but id feel alot better if I knew for sure. I cant find them on Orion's site or anywhere for that matter.
Would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Skye

Man my engine was great all day yesterday tryied to make 10 min. Stop in a main and flammex at right at 10 min. Whi h was about 10 seco.ds short of pit lane and was in the lead oh well will just have to be lighter on throttle next time or pit at 9:40 and worry about making the second half of the race

I've pitted at 10 in truggy 1 time with no problems. but I've never even tried in buggy.. 9min in buggy has been tops for me.. but I've hit 11 in truggy during practice.. Which is why i decided to pit at 10. I haven't done it since, but alot of that was because it wouldn't have helped..

I am going to try again if needed seems real close i need to measure my tank and fuel line might not be at 125 cc so maybe can get what i need from that but ifnot ob well just a few bobbles less will make up for theextra pit

Just remember allot of fuel millage also depends on clutch set-up , epa adjustment and of course venturi size. This doesn't mean if you use a small venturi you will gain runtime. I use a Discovery with 2013 , 7.5 venturi, ascedency clutch system with 2 alum with 1.0 and 2 carbon with .90. And will get 10 easy in a race not practice. I also run Expert or Pro , a sportsman with my car could go 11 easy..

jewn_beef 09-20-2011 11:29 AM

Maybe the extra few seconds i need is in the clutch i am running all alum.shoes with 1.0 springs with the ascendancy clutch i also use alot of my own overdriving and heavy throttle finger to cut down on runtime whichis probably the biggest problem all i know is it was close so i will try again when opportunity arrises
loving the power on bottom with 2013 pipe

You love that bottom huh Sy?:p
Seriously though.. Why not just try limiting your EPA a little? For how close you are, seems like you could bring it in a small enough amount that it probabally wouldnt even be noticeable, but still get you where you wanna be without worrying about lightening up on the trigger. Like you said though, id check tank/line capacity before anything. Just my 2 cents

The proper needle settings are pretty close to flush on both, especially for a new engine, that should be on the rich side.. once you break it in, they are slightly below flush.. let us know how it works out. You should be able to tell when you first start it up if they are on the rich side..

I wouldn't change it, we never do that. Maybe if you take it apart and it's sloppy you could do it, but I've never seen one with enough play to bother with it.. if you death rev it trying to get the marshal's attention, maybe change it.

I have the Aplha .24

I race dirt oval with a converted MBX-6

Im tryin to decide the best pipe to run, I read the 2013 is great but will it fall short on the top end?

Im looking for something comparable to an 086 pipe. Has anybody tried the 086 on there Alpha?
I currently have an 053 pipe on it now but Im not pleased at all. It has a very short lived power band and falls on its face before the end of the straight.

Racing oval I'd think a .21 would suit you better, most will rev higher then a .24 or.28.

That said, the pipe you are looking for, for top end, is the 2058 or 2057. 2058 has good mid, and a decent bottom, and the 2057 is all top end.. I ran the 2057 on a Trinity ExTech .24 in truggy last year, it worked pretty well, but I didn't like it on .21.... Also, I am running off-road and not oval. Not sure how well it will perform for you in Oval..

That's exactly the info I was looking for. May look into a 21 next time but I love this 24 so far. It's plenty fast and I like the torque for my driving style and tracks I run even with the 053 but I really wanted to get the most out it.
