[QUOTE=ScottyM;9425605]The OS 2050 might be one of the best all around pipes available. It should work well.

I'm getting well over 10 in my truggy with a 2013.. Jp3 for me was always a gas hog.] 2013 is my favorite pipe. the jp3 seems it has a small tuning window for this orion .small change on the needles big results.

WCE engines will be available again soon, they didn't ship the entire order for what ever reason..

I agree with V6 that this engine is well balanced.. If you lean it out a little it'll perform amazingly..

I took advice of this worad and leaned my low end to a nice crisp idle, and mand does this thing rip now.. No mid bog like before, and tons of acceleration and nice top speed, very well balanced.. Since Horizon has some discoveries with 2058 pipe in stock I think I am going to order one for my Buggy, that OFNA JLR is about wore out, needs new bearings, and a good going through, but for the $$ the Orion has me hooked..

I did have 3 flame outs today, and I think I might be a bit too lean on bottom, but the engine still pulls great. It is goobering up my glow plugs just enough to cause an erratic idle. WHich is when the engines die, at idle, and all 3 time I was 20 feet in the air clearing a huge quad section, and it would just die.. New glow plug for the main and all was great until 15 minutes in, thent he idle got erratic, and it flamed again.. If I'm not too lean on bottom it could be these old O'Donnell 97T plugs.. I remember reading about a bad batch from last year.. Been lucky until now..

I ran into that also with the 97t plugs. It would flame out after 3 to 5 mins. I got two bad one found a new glow i forgot that i bought two years ago and it still in it no problems after a full gallon

micheal truhe edition ran flawless. getting 10 1/2 mins run time. it was hotter than crap at the midwest nitro series. my 3 port flamed out in the main in my buggy, but my truggy was a hb rocket.

I think I have a new card of 97t's but I didn't have them with me yesterday, so I'm gonna hope for that, but I might order some Orion plugs. Which one is recommended for summer driving? I'm thinking Orion 6, the medium heat one..

from everything that i have read and the people that i have talked to, the orion #6 is gonna be the plug of choice when the weather is above 90*F or so. once it cools off under that i will jump up to the #5 hot plug

Coach Townsend 07-24-2011 03:28 PM

Running a#6 plugs gives u little more runtime. Idle ok. But a#5 plug better idle ezer to tune. With 2013. Now the discovery motor is a great motor. I run this motor with a abi crank can get 11mins. And can do 7 mins rich to the point i get passed down the straight. Remeber a motor need s 3 min to warm up properl.

Thanks Coach.. I really like this Discovery, and I'm pretty sure my glow plug problem is simply the bad run of plugs..

ScottyM 07-27-2011 02:43 PM

I have a new Orion Discovery inbound. I should get it Friday. It is the combo kit that Horizon had with 2058 pipe.. Gonna put it in my buggy, I can't wait to get it broke-in...
