where did you get that engine? I didn't think it was out yet... it's a Discovery, right?

That's a great engine at a great price! OMG, even I am tempted to buy one! :lol: It has the new carburetor with the insert, and new crank case material. That is just an unbelievable engine for that price.

i ordered it from my local hobby town. Horizon said it was back ordered until feb 28. but it came in anyway. Yes it is the new Discovery.

Also have to give props to my dad (tri-city hobbies), he always finds me a great engine that fits my price range. He called me up when he found that horizon was having the MTE+pipe package for $220, he knows i like the orions and put it on order for me right when he saw it.

That is by far the best buy right now in nitro engines... there is no possible way you can find an Italian engine of that quality with a ceramic bearing for 200 bucks. period... :cool:

I have no idea how it compares to the old Mugen grease you liked but it seems to work very well for me.

Losi also has a thicker version that they call hi-pressure grease.

Question: I have a pair of brand new MTEs and I noticed that they have four shims between the sleeve and the head button. Two aluminium (thin) and two copper (thick). Is this setup for 30% nitro? If I run 20% nitro can I remove one of the thin aluminium shims to gain power/efficiency?

Is is just me or is the head smaller in diameter then other engines??

i havent run it yet, but i will be running a 2013 on it.

i just took my Discovery 5-port and compared the head size to my MTE, Same size.

Thanks very much. Yes, if you are running 30% nitro with your current head clearance, and it's running fine (no detonation) you should be able to remove one small shim and run 20% nitro with no trouble.

That's pretty much it, but it's funny that it says ceramic bearings and "bi-steel" bearing (whatever that means) in the feature list. It also has a turbo button which is a plus. Still a totally screaming deal even with a steel bearing. Ceramic bearings are over rated, the steel ones will run just as good.

Let me just clarify, I am only reading the Stormer Hobbies promotion. I have no idea whether it has a ceramic bearing or not. I don't know what type of bearing or what combination of features is released until I open the cellophane like you guys. As far as I can see it's a typo and it actually has a steel bearing, that is my educated guess. Why would you put a 90 dollar bearing in an engine and sell it for 200 bucks? :)

For the new 5 port CRF Alpha, have any break in and basic tuning tips/temp range? I am still pretty new to Nitro racing. Thanks!

Also plug wise I see you guys run the #6. For colder indoor racing in the North East should I run the #5 plug?
