I have the 3 port 2012 version myself and just installed it and the slide on the carburettor is very difficult to slide to :( has anyone else had these issues and is there a way to fix it or not? pretty annoyed tbh though it would be like butter to move for a 400 dollar engine.......

Check the carb slide, that when the linkage rod is attached to the ball on the Carb, it needs to be level, and the Carb slide not rubbing on the top center diff plate when slide is extended.

I still have not yet been able to make my Cody King a reliable engine. Is there anyone I can send my engine to and have it looked at? This thing has less than 1 gallon after break in and it very rarely runs a full tank before it dies. So fed up with this. I have emailed Orion customer support with NO replies, I got a reply from facebook to reply to a different email, and they didn't reply. I have a 7 port that has 7 gallons on it and it can still run 10 minutes in between fuel stops and it still has more top speed and low end grunt than the Nova and OS engines. Seriously if my Cody King was my first Orion it would have been my last. It still might be my last if I cannot get some customer service. I am not asking for a new engine, nor any free repairs if something is wrong, I just really want to know what the heck is wrong with the engine.
My biggest problem is I live in Vietnam so there are no true Orion dealers here, everything is ordered from Horizon and they tell everyone to go to the manufacturer and when the manufacturer wont step up who can we go to?? It has gotten so bad that my last race instead of even attempting to run the Cody King I threw in my Nvision bash engine and placed 3rd. Sad thing is that the Cody King while it is running it is a beast, but if it flames out every 3 to 5 minutes it isn't worth a crap. I have a new 2012 factory team 5 port that I am finishing breaking in, but if I can't get service I will sell it and go with Novarossi or Werks or Fusion as I have seen great customer support from Werks and from Huston Engines. Once again, can someone contact me through this site as to where I can send my engine off to? From the start it would die and on my very first run after it dropped its nutz it died on the big jump causing a crash and the cooling head took a hit. From the start it hasn't ran right I just want to know why PERIOD. |

So is this something I should try as well? I don't understand why the included carb shouldn't work. Should have just bought an OS or a Nova if buying a 100+ carb is the answer to fix these things.
I never had idle problems mine would just flame out between 2 and 5 minutes and I could never go past 8 minutes on a tank before it would flame. After doing this I have ran maybe 3 tanks on it without it flaming and this has happened from the first time we started breaking it in with it flaming while breaking it in. In contrast my 2011 7 port Orion engine has had 7 gallons on it and I can still get 10 minutes on a tank with very few flame problems, 2 flame outs in the last 6 races only, with each main being at least 30 minutes. |
I checked the slide and now i can see theres a massive gouge in the sliding barrel... i had the carb on a slight angle as i knew about the carb rubbing on the losi 2.0 thread and there was clearance when i installed it.. guess im just gunna have to send it back to orion then and get it them to fix or replace it. So pissed just wanna get my car going!!

Looking for information on the 7 port crf? Has this engine not been that good of a seller or is it just a weird coincidence no one talks about it? I just got one and it seems to be hard to find specific reviews, I'd like to know how it's overall performance has been, how the bottom end is and how top is!? What pipe 2013/2058/2050/2060/2090/053/2035/2039 what is good and If anyone has compared it to a crf 3/5 port. I run os speed and blue head os and also the bo2 right now, and also have my b5&b5 pro and bo1a ninja and 5 port discovery to compare this to so if anyone has anything to add please do.
Thanks |
I have according to my reseller a B321, that only lasted 1 gallon of fuel, i had it run in by the assiastance from another reseller that also compete, so he knows what he doing, and the engine only cost about $330, but i thought that Orion would last longer than 1 gallon, used for racing at 1 event, and before that only training, always run in around 120degrees C, and always with good fuel, clean airfilter, looked after good, used afterrun oil from mugen seiki, and fuel from Team Strike 25%, is this normal for Orion engines, if so i will move to other brand, none can be this bad.

And as that engine is intended for people new to the hobby, i wonder if that can be the reason why it did not last more than 1 gallon as a race engine, anyone here know if this could be the case or if the engine even if used for racing should last longer. |
