Hello everyone.
I have a couple of questions here. Since Rody has left this company, several years ago now, how has this company been in terms of reliability and performance. My last engine, and one I still use, is a WS7 III L2G and one of the last engines where Rody was involved with RB. I am looking to replace it with a B11 which I hear is more like a C5/C6. What is the reliability like with the new products. I know that the B11 is Novarossi based and that some of the others are Asian based. With that being said I have had several RB engines in the past including a 14 gallon S7 engine that I loved. How reliable are the new products from RB. Any issues with the B9-B11 engines and are the shark versions an upgrade to the B series. Is there any engine that RB makes that even compares to the original WS series engines in terms of performance? And finally is there a reason that RB is not as popular as it once was as I did not see any of the top 10 drivers in Arizona or Revelation recently running an RB mill of any kind. |

Does any one have a part number for connecting rod. The tag on the piston and sleeve says it's for a s7. Thanks in advance.
the S7 is the same engine as the WS7 minus the biturbo, coated crank, bigger head and painted case. With that being said the piston, sleeve and rod were the same between the S7 and WS7 engines. |

Since the WS7 is a square stroke engine there isn't an RB that is still square stroke so there isn't anything thats going to be just like it. The B11 so far seems to be the closest I have had. The Shark9 actually feels very linear like the WS7 when it has a ceramic bearing in it but it still produces more bottom end snap than the WS7. The Killer10/11 and sport10/11 are the engines that come from Taiwan and will not have the Nova quality your are speaking of. |

The quality is still there!! I have been running RB's since the WS7II came out back in the day. That engine ran for right at 15 gallons before it had no compression. I have C5's, C6's, a B9, and a B10 that have all gone over 10 gallons with nothing more than a front bearing swap at some point. I have a Shark9 that just went over the 9 gallon mark and the compression is still great, and it still takes some effort to turn the flywheel by hand when in the car. I have the New B11 and so far it is running great.

I dont need anymore bottom end with my JQ buggy as it already has an issue with spinning out lol, however these new OS speed engines are just leaving me in the dust with my older WS7 L2G motor using a 192 manifold and 2045 EFFRA (older) rb pipe. Was hoping to tame the bottom end a bit but get more top end. Sounds like the Shark 10 or B11 would be the choices. Currently I am using carbon shoes and .9 mugen springs to lessen the initial punch of the WS7 engine. |

Go with the1.0 springs, taller. Clutch bell would help you too. What is the size spur gear? You can go with shorter spur also.
More than likely the engine has not broken in fully yet as it does not have even a gallon through it. It sat on mothballs for 4 years. Took off the back plate and inspected the crank for rust, no rust at all. Started it up, it barely had its 6 tanks of break in completed, and started to tune. Now it has about 3/4 of a gallon through it so I am sure it is close to being fully broke in but not quite there.. Trying to keep the temps at 220 running 30% fuel :) I am sure one day it will "wake" up and surprise me around the 1.5 gallon mark like my S7 did. |
Has anyone ever ran a RB Classico 10 in a buggy.

That engine shares the same piston and sleeve as the Rally10, but your Clasico will have a more aggressive crank timing on it. I know when I ran the Rally10 in my car with the 2018 exhaust the car was stupid fast and almost hard to drive. I would assume it will be quite fast in a buggy, but I have noticed in the past when running onroad cranks in my engines that the tuning window gets much smaller and LSN tune is critical to keep a stable idle, and has to be set near perfect. |

Thanks bro, I think I will stay away from that one then. Im not good at tuning to start off and I dont like alot of bottom end in my truggy and definitly buggy. I guess I will try out the b9 with a 2045/192 header. Thanks for the quick response.
The B9 is a good engine, it will be fast and should be able to be used in car or truck. If used in truck you would want the 198 or 204 header. |

Why 198 header in truck. I currently have a ws7 l2g in my rc8tce with 192/2045 and it runs great. I was thinking of putting that in the buggy and the b9 in truggy b/c everyone seem to think the b9 is a stump Puller. Sorry for all the questions. I love my ws7 and have had nothing but good luck with tuning and performance.
I only say the 198 for truck to get a little more torque, but that is also totally up to your driving style. If you like the WS7 192/2045 combo on your truck now you will like the B9 with the same combo as the B9 makes more torque than your WS7. The B9 in truck and the WS7 in car would be a good choice IMO. I always loved how the power of the WS7 engines felt in a buggy!! |
C6?
Hello chris I hope you don't mind me asking you a real quick question. I have a C6 that was givin to me awhile back, and love it, sooo much power, my buddy saw it run and had to get one. my question is on top of his engine it has T7 on top of the C6 on the head, now mine has the same looking C6 but it has something diff on top of the C6 I really couldn't make it out but it not the T7 I see on most of the C6 that run at my track. thanks for your help....
