Just got three tanks through that used Fire 11 I got (and had pinched..) Ran great.. The 2045 (with different, longer header) was kind of lame. Put on an SH "High Torque" pipe, and it was much better. No EFRA number, so not raceable I guess.. Need to get me a 2013 pipe...

I went through this a couple years ago on a German forum.. And I thought it was. Maybe I meant the 053?..
Though I think it was the 086. And some guy posted the German rules in which it stated that the 9886 and its derivative 086 were allowed.. But I could be thinking of the 053(but I don't see why.. I DO race the 086 on my modded Nosram.. I have an 053 too, but have never really planned on racing it the way I did the 086.. Not that I race at a particularly high level though..) |
053 is a no go too :D Sorry
|
I'm positive I had this discussion 2-3 years ago - pretty sure it was the 086. Maybe it's changed in the last couple of years..
Edit - Just doing some quick googling. It may be that there is/was a difference between EFRA approval between buggy and truggy.. Double Edit - OK, 053 and 086 are NOT allowed at EFRA races.. Which I don't think I'm ever going to race at.. For DMC (the main German org.) it seems like you can race what you want.. - in truggy anyway... |

I actually like the 053 on the Fire 11.. It's just a note or two too low in the range for me.. ;)
For racing it'd probably be great in truggy.. It seemed that runtime wasn't too bad.. The 2058 does spool up faster though..

Evry erfa approved pipe pipe after 9901( including 9901) is "2.5" chamber pipes. 2035 is not the same pipe as the 9853 pipe is 2 chamber.
From this year, there are only a few ppes that are approved. Homologation of pipes is now for two years, then the manufactor needs to do it again. More and more tracks is getting closed down because of noise, so there are new rules for noiseaproval. Here you can find the list of EFRA approved pipes. http://news.efra.ws/fileadmin/docume...nov%202013.pdf |
I still think half of it is BS for the companies to make money.. The Alpha 0801 for ex. is great for Alphas.. Why all the new pipes?.. They're not meaningfully less loud than all the others. I run an 053, 086, among others, and they're not any louder than anything else.. Stupid..
I've also never heard of a track being closed because of noise. In my region more tracks are opening than closing.. Most tracks close down because somebody buys the land and bye bye RC club... I.e. normal business reasons. |
