I know it will proberly get less run time than a x10

It will probably be very similar honestly, the only real difference is the Shark9 has the balanced version of the C6 crank. It may be a little smoother but may very likely rev a bit higher.

What I do when I want a bit extra fuel mileage and power is drop in a ceramic bearing.

if the new B11 has been designed to increase runtime over the B10 does it still have as much power? it seems that RB dont really have a motor suitable for truggy anymore.
I know i could mod the B11 for more power but wouldnt it have made more sence if they kept the C6 line as a high torque version and the B11 as a runtime version.
its a real shame that they have killed off the line. alot of people run the C6/B9/B10 line of motors and now its going to become a motor thats hard to get parts for

Hi Tix

Actually, the B11 is really powerfull, even if we reduced slightly the timings to make it less aggressive and more progressive. However, if you think you will not have enough, go for the FIRE 11! This engine is a monster of power, 7 ports sleeve and really aggressive on-road crank, perfect for the truggy! I will use this one on my truck.

I was told last week there is a front and rear orientation for the head button. At least on a Nova 4plusC. Can some one verify this for RB's and if so what the proper orientation is for a WS7 turbo button.

Nope, not on RB WS7, or any of the RB engines, the LG Heads they have will go either way,but there is a notch on one end that gives more room for the header.

If the button has any markings on it they usually go to the exhaust side.

aznitronut 03-19-2011 05:43 PM

This is an RB, not a Nova, havnt heard of such on any Nova based engine, it doesn't make any sense, the factory is not doing anything to the head button that would make it be directional.

aznitronut 03-19-2011 05:46 PM

All the head buttons are round, the cylinder is round, the sleeve is round, the head button combustion chamber is round, no matter how you install it, its still the same.

hambone 03-19-2011 06:59 PM

Agreed. Most man'f and engine builders recommend keeping the button indexed the same way after removing it. Somebody else can chime in as to the reasoning for this. My RB has a button that must be installed 1 way only.

aznitronut 03-20-2011 07:08 AM

How do you know that its installed only one way? What will happened if it is not installed that one way?

The Rody button on a C6 USA has a cutout in the squish band that must face the exhaust.
