To be exact, it's a 5+2 port with 3 exhaust.

What is with RB and using flat blade screws and how in the world do i get the four that hold down the head out?

Just use a good screwdriver that fits tight. Nova and RB both use flat blade screws. I never had problems using the proper screwdriver.

I am and no matter how hard i twist they won't come lose i even used heat to see if the expanding of the case would loosen things up abit but still nothing.......

Not sure how well it would work, but maybe try spraying some PB Blaster directly on threads at base of cooling head and let it soak overnight. Same with backplate. I'm sure someone else may have a better solution for you.

Got'm :D, just needed to use a pipe wrench on the screw driver for more leverage. I needed to install a head shim to run 30%, i know this might be a newb question but when i put them back in shoud i use thread lock or since they came out with out any, put them back in with out any? I'm guessing no thread lock but just checking.

Hudy makes screwdrivers that are made for removing these screws. Get the right tools before you try pulling those out or you will just bugger up the screws or break a screwdriver. As tight as those get torqued down you need a flat driver that fits in there nice and tight!!

Chris Peralta 12-25-2010 09:10 PM

No on the thread lock, just snug them up real tight, but don't use the pipe wrench for leverage when you tighten em. You can strip out the block if you really strong arm one.

Nick411 12-25-2010 09:10 PM

Judging by me not being able to loosen them by myself i'm not the "strong arm one" :p

Here is another thing that you should do before you remove the head and head button, remove your glow plug first, then loosen the screws, the plug does actually expand the button into the sleeve when its tighten down, for a good seal between sleeve and head button, an RB rep, named Kevin told me this about 10 years ago, when I started using RB engines.

You should be okay running 30%, depending on where you live, if you live in low elevation, shouldn't be a problem. The odonell 97 is a better plug for the the killer 10 over the 77.

i live in cincinnati ohio so i think you are right i should be ok and i will get some 97t's i am sure i can swap them with someone are the 6's going to be ok? or just swap them all for 97t's? also i am currently running a plus 4 how does the killer 10 compare? i LOVE the plus 4 but i didnt have the extra 80 bucks so i heard the killer with pipe was a great 2nd choice?

I have not used the P4, to make a comparison, some other racers I know have used them, you should have more power with the killer 10, I don't think you will get the fuel mileage as the P4. Be patient with it till you get it broke in, the temps will probably be higher than what your used to in the beginning, I have the killer 9, what I did find, is the o-ring on the carb is thin, and doesn't seem to seal well, I would suggest using an RB or Nova Rossi o-ring for a better seal, as to keep from chasing an air leak, from the skinny o ring. Go ahead an keep the RB 6 glow plugs first, then go to the O'donnell plugs, it will keep you from stripping the threads on the head button, when going with the O'donnell plugs, then with an RB, then with the O'donnell, they will tend to stop the threads.p

i am a tad confused the killer 10 is a rb motor so what other o ring for the carb that is made by rb should i get? as far as the temps go i dont mind running it in the 250 range if thats what it likes

Yes your Killer10 engine is a RB engine, but it is not
a Novarossi based RB engine. It is made for RB by
the Force engine company of Tiawan. It is basically
the same engine as the Ofna Force JL engine.
I have found that the best, longest lasting glowplugs
are the ones that Force makes and are sold under the
Ofna name. You can buy them through Nitrohouse .com.
Here is a link to them,

Has anyone had any experience with running a WS7III with a silicone filled crank? Can I expect a performance increase? I know that is a popular mod these days.
