Are any of you running a C6BBII .21 USA? Right now I'm running a WS7-2 and absolutley love it. Im looking at getting another motor for a GOOD back-up or to replace the WS. How do they compare? Is the power band smoother, over-all power, any opinions on anything else? Would anyone recomend the WS9 instead?

Thank you in advance!!!

I'm running the usa spec and love the motor.I'm getting 12-13 min a tank in my buggy with it tuned at 225-230:nod:I have only ever owned c5 and c6 before so i couldn't fairly compare it to a ws motor.Compared to the regular c6 the usa comes on the bottom stronger and seems to just pull from there even seems better on the top.
I run a fairly loose track and the usa in my 8 2.0 seems to be more motor then whats needed on a low bite track.So I'm getting the ws9 to put in my buggy and then use the usa in the 8t 2.0 i just got;)

anyone tried a jp-4 on a c6
also what fuel are you running and what temps are you running

im running 255-265 to get no hesitation with jp-4 if i run 220-240 it seems like it dont wanna rev high

Check out the soon to be released RB "Killer 9" engine,
over on the Neobuggy.net web site. It looks like it's RB's
version of the Novarossi "Toro Nero" engine. This new
RB engine is going to be one mean mutha.

Isnt this engine just the c-5 with a updated head or is the piston/sleeve completely new?

Anyone know what the deal is with the US Rep? He will not answer the phone and you can't leave a message because his mailbox is always full! I love the RB brand, but his neglect is enough to make me look elsewhere. You'd think support would be first on the list unfortunatley it appears as though he could care less?!?!?

I just hope he isn't hanging out with Russel, the guy
that imports GO engines to the US. Seems like he doesn't
give a damn about his US customers and business either.

It's a complete shame that it's like that! You'd think he would be at least a little concerned with the U.S. consumers! I guess when Roddy left so did their support! WTF!!!

Go with the 192 header and 2045 pipe for the best performance with most all the RB engines, best mileage, best power.

aznitronut 07-28-2009 06:59 AM

The best way to contact RB, Is straight to there new USA distributor, Brain Howard, [email protected] The previous US distributor left RB with alot of non paying retailers.

Thank you, unfortunatley Brian Howard is the one I'm refering to. He will not answer the phone, and, if your lucky you will get a corresponding E-mail fom him within to weeks of sending one. Plus you can't leave a voicemail because his mailbox is always full. I've been relentless with calling him, and no answer! Like previously stated RB must have all the business they need!

He has also told me (the time I was lucky enough to get any corespondance from him)the 2 motors I ordered from him are in stock and on hand, and that they would be sent to me, I am yet to see any motors and my customers are getting mad at me. This has been the ongoing struggle with Brian for the last month or so!

buggydad 07-28-2009 10:06 AM

What happened to the guy from Texas,jay i think his name was or am i thinking of Brian?????

aaron joy 07-28-2009 10:14 AM

The current guy Brian is from Texas. Im not sure if he is the same fellow that was handling orders before. He is hit or miss on the phone but once you get in touch with him everything is ok. We got a "Hobby 9" that came in last week that was on backorder. I need to get in touch with him now as I need to place a order for the shop. I will ask him about the "Killer 9" , I am very interested in getting one.

RCmayor 07-28-2009 12:36 PM

Isn't a K9 a dog?

Semple 07-28-2009 12:40 PM

I would like to try the K9 as well. They claim it to be a good price:performance ratio. If it is in fact a good price, I may grab one.

I hope you have better luck than I did getting the stuff you ordered from Brian! Again I was told they would be shipped and still havn't seen them!?! Even went as far as telling me they would be out that day! RB lost two customers today as both people told me to go other routes. I emailed Brian and canceled the order! Maybe he'll respond to that!

PUDDIN 07-28-2009 06:32 PM

I run a hobby shop and Have been trying to get him on the phone or threw email. I want to order motors for our store but he never answeres.

Just found out the Great Plains has rb motors instock

omarwashington 07-29-2009 02:08 PM

OK so I just got my Junior9 in and I'm about to put my old S3 Piston/Sleeve and conrod into it(which have about 4 gallons on them)

I also need to remove the crank shaft but I'm having trouble getting it out, what would be the best way to get it out so that I don't damage anything with the engine?

gixxerman 07-29-2009 02:37 PM

If you have the piston, sleeve & rod out, just wack the front end of the crank on a peice of wood & it will come out.

Not sure what happened to RB USA but I'm thinking of changing my name. Seems to be alot of changes for the worse since Rody left.

Na, keep the name, there still really good motors, just no support!

A little update: in all my fury I called A-Main Hobbies to see if they could point me in the right direction. They have called be back twice so far to let me know that over this week they had put in numerous calls and e-mails to Brian Howard and were not able to get a reponse. So let this be a lesson, if A-Main Hobbies can't get a response we won't either. THANK YOU A-MAIN HOBBIES!!!!!

I really hope their not paying this guy?!?!?!?:weird:

rageworks 07-29-2009 06:21 PM

I don't know if trying to get in touch with the RB factory
overseas some how would help us in the states any.
I would think that they would be concerned if they knew
that the person in charge of the RB USA branch was screwing
things up here so bad. I guess the task is just too much for him
to handle and should be turned over to someone who can.
Do any of you guys speak French, we need someone to make
an overseas call.

You know, I did call the French office, they answered in French...........and I hung up!!!! LMAO!!!! Any French majors among us???????

I also e-mailed them the link to this thread.

aaron joy 07-30-2009 09:20 AM

I just spoke to Brian, he said he has been down with the Flu. He really is a great guy to deal with, he said any questions shoot him a email at
www.rb-usa.com and he will get back to you. He also said he is expecting the "Killer 9" next week.

buggydad 07-30-2009 04:58 PM

What is the killer 9?:lol:

I think RB has gone crazy with engine names!!!

omarwashington 07-30-2009 06:29 PM

speaking of names let me see if I got this correct:

S3 = Junior 9
S5 = Hobby 9
S7 = Buggy S9

C6 = Buggy 9 (B9)
WS7 = WS9

So the killer 9 is a new production engine?

RacerScott 07-30-2009 06:31 PM

Looks like a case I've never seen before, question is, is it the same 5+2 sleeve the B9 (aka c5) has.

gixxerman 07-30-2009 08:16 PM

No more L2G head? Motor looks very interesting!

aaron joy 07-30-2009 08:30 PM

It does look pretty sick! I backordered two today when I spoke to him on the phone. I will let you guys know when I get my hands on one.:sneaky:

Anybody else try a exhaust cooler? I have been running one for a month now. Not sure how much if any more runtime I got but it sure looks trick. I found a perfect mounting spot in my 8ight T 2.0 behind the front shock tower. I used the hole in the top brace that is normally used for the buggy front body post using the mounting hardware included with the cooler. I will post some pics after I give my truck a bath.

jnslprd 07-30-2009 09:23 PM

hey guys, maybe someone can help me out?

i bought a ws7II and am going to be putting it in a kyosho strr.

does anyone know what would be a good pipe and header combo?

I need good runtime and prefer smooth power instead of wheelspin.

I race 2wd buggy and this will be my first 1/8 scale.

Thanks, Joe

aaron joy 07-31-2009 01:59 AM

If smooth bottom end is what you are looking for try RB's 2045 pipe with 192mm header. If you want more torque pick up a 198mm header. My buddy has the new "WS9" with 2045/198, the low end power is amazing with that pipe combo.
