i also tried the jp pipes and nothing wrong with the jp pipes but they dont do so well with the trinity engine....
|
Hey guys not to be a pain but how many gallons you guys got on the motors and are they still pretty tight? Also i hear sirio carbs are a pain to tune whats this one like. Im planning on ordering one tonight or tomorrow and just need alittle more info so i can comfortably make my decision.thanks
|
I have a gallon and a half through mine and it is still tight and gets stuck at TDC sometimes.
I have not had any issues tuning it either. I think the new Sirio stuff is much better than the old stuff. Colin |

wow you guys are quick! I think the Extech will be a safe bet. Thanks for all the help guys.
|
WOW, afer reading every word on every page on this forum about the EX-TECH .21....i'm really considerin gettin one to run in my 8T and Xray XB8. this engine seems to have everything u want...and ALOT more. I believe i might have to take a stroll up to my LHS tomorrow and tell them to order it for me. CANT WAIT~!@~!@~@~!@
|
So can I believe that a JP-2 pipe won't work well?
|
from talking with ppl who have tried the JP2. it has no bottom and a lot of top end. If you are racing at tracks within Md,Pa,Nj,Ct, and Ny. The 2013 will be a good choice.
|
BEST MOTOR OUT HANDS DOWN HAVE LITTLE OVER A GALLON AND THE MOTOR STILL HAS VERY STRONG PINCH THE IDLE COMES DOWN REALLY NICE NOT HARD TO TOON AND AFTER RUNNING A "FEW" DIFFERANT PIPES I HAVE COME TO LIKE THE NOVAROSSI 9853 AND LIKE CHAD SAID THE 2013 IS ALSO VERY WELL MY LOSI JUST SOUNDS LIKE A KYOSHO GOING AROUND THE TRACK LOL BUT LUV THE PIPE ....IF YOU LIKE ALOT OF TOP END THEN THE JP2 IS THE WAY TO GO I HAD SO MUCH TOP IT WAS STUPID AND CAME OFF AT LIKE 188..I AM VERY PLEASED TO BE RUNNING THESE MOTORS AND WORKING WITH THE TEAM BIG UPS TO CHAD AND THE WHOLE TRINITY TEAM...
|
hahaha...that's funny....were you trying to say that your toyota sounds like a ferrari?????......lol.....just kidding.....I had a 777WC and now a 8, but for some reason the sound the same to me :)

dremel the spash guard so if u get hit hard |
just ordered an eb "tuned" .21. Anything special i need to do about break in? i know it says its pre broken in but do i need to do anything besides put it in and run it?
|
smracer,
Just drop it in and go. I have two of the non tuned ones that were run in and that is exactly what Chad said to do. Runs like a top and is still tight after a couple of gal.'s through them. I'm not even at the race tune yet, as stated on the paper work that came with the motors and they still have plenty of power. |
FYI to all
Fully Modded EB Ex-tech engine's are in-stock. Ed has taken this engine to a whole new level. Latest mod that was not listed is he has coated the crank. I asked what he did and it is so secret he won't even tell me! |
Sweet Chad! Just got off the phone with Toni. Mine will be on the way today!I REALLY want an engine I can just drop in and go! What plug?

That pictures is Kelby trying to pass on the last sweeper before the finish line of the main. A split second after that pic is taken he is ejected off the ground and my Extech beats him to the line for 2nd!
Love the power of the Extech! So far, the best engine I have run. Joe A. - I don't have Ed's email at home, can you send it over. I need to touch base with him before next weekend at the barn! [email protected] |
Yes, the Extech engine are crazy fast with all around power! I've been watching them on the track & it seems that everyone that has one in their car is doing a lot better...

I'm about sick and tired of the Go-Tech carb issues and am in the market for a new engine. I'm looking at the GRP and the Ex-Tech .21's.
Is this too much engine for someone still working on consistency? I can log decent lap times, but I have trouble stringing them together still. I've been running 8th buggy for 2 months now. Does it chew up tires really quick? I haven't won the lottery yet, so... Also, does it tune like a normal engine, or does it tune like a retarded monkey like I'm getting far too used to with the Go? Will it take P3 plugs? I have a stockpile of them because the Go kept cooking them, so I want to have a use for them. (P.S., nothing against Go, when it had a tune on it it was a decent motor.) |
semple im in the same boat as you, i just orderd an eb tuned extech so i will let you know how my experience goes. I have a go tech 3 port and 7 port, im tired of trying to deal with the go techs.
