XRC just released the dyno of this engine. I'm sure thats where German got the information. I also have an X-Dyno and would be glad to test it myself. I haven't messed with ANY settings that BK put on my Dyno so I know its right and un molested just as he designed it. Although my Dyno tends to read lower then XRC and others that have the X-Dyno its consistent and thats all that matters to me as I use it for R&D.
I know if Derek or BK did the test for XRC you can guarantee the test was done right and I would trust the results 100%. And there usually the ones that do the X-Dyno testing for XRC mag. And with BK being the one who designed and produces the X-Dyno I dunno how you can even question his results!?!? He has no biased twards anyones engines... And unlike some he's not on here pushing a product because hes sponsored or his friend modifiys these engines etc. No pun intended BTW. That is one thing thats bad about forums is the biased comments, and then when there questioned or someone disagrees the bad attitude that follows.... I dunno why everyone just cant be civil and not have to feel like they have to argue it seems... if you like the engine and you feel it helps you win races then thats great! Thats what its all about! Everyone has there preference on what engines they like and dislike, so why even argue over it?? Just run what engine you like and be happy and have fun racing! No need to try and talk down to others that dont share your opinion.... And im not calling anyone out, so I dont need the "hey u hurt my feelings coments :p" Im just telling it like I see it on these forums all too often. I'm sure the EX Tech is a great engine that will win races, but so are alot of other engines in the right hands. I'm not here to argue in anyway shape or form as argueing on the internet is as pointless as smacking yourself in the face IMO  My point is we all shouldnt be so biased... Be open to discusion and dont hate on others. You'll find that it gets you alot further then arguing and having a biased attitude. |
What dyno are you referring to, and if so were both motors done on the same dyno under the same conditions? Because if they weren't this argument is pointeless, when I raced sand drag quads there were constantly people posting there dyno sheets from dynos all over the U.S., but unless you run them on the same dyno there are to many variables to make comparison to.
|
I run the extech and i love it its a beast to say the least and i finally thinks its broken in cause now it will idle all day long! I also have run Rb engines in the past and they are great as well. I have also hear that the C6BB did not Dyno well? These dynos are crap compared to track time and expierence! I know my extech has plenty of bottom and pulls the straight just as fast as any engines where I race and its not the modded one! Just like when i ran the C6BB it was always one of the beasts at any track I went too. The dynos are not a accurate way to rate engines!

Do the none tuned versions of these do well in a truggy?

German Muscle are you high? NO Vspec will make power like a 28.. EVER!
I was running Team EB Mods V Specs for 2 years before the switch to Ex Techs. Not only do the Ex Tech's run more reliable, but they make more power on, and off the track. Like I said in my previous post IDK what X Dyno results your looking at, but there OFF. The results I see at EB Mods dyno, I know are correct, and they clearly out perform the V spec every time. If your so set in your ways,, running V specs... why even come in this thread, and post? Ta give your .2 cents,,no one buys anyway. Good Luck! |

First of all I know exactly whats what with the dyno...The full mod Ex Tech Power curve will over lay the EB Modded V spec,, The stock Ex Tech dogs the V spec off the line and then falls off A LIL on top. IDK about ur non production mods and what they do... and to be honest IDC. My opinion may sound bias, because I'm very happy with running the Ex Tech, as they have improved my lap times, and reliability, over the V Specs . If your modding V specs to have power like a 28 ninja, your obviously NOT a Racer, and know nothing useful. Please keep your basher point of view to yourself, we don't want to mislead any real racers. Stick to drag racing in parks and lots. |

youre awful quick to jump to conclusions. I never said i was modding anything. And as a fact they are modifications anyone can buy just like i did. The reason your opinion is so biased and your so closed minded is because your pushing a product and trying to advertise. As far as me not being a racer. I race 1/8th scale on road where .21s make alot more power than .28s. You shouldnt try to belittle others to try and make yourself look better either, that just makes you look worse especially when you have no idea on my skill level or the amount of knowledge i have. I know you dont care because all you do care about is how the Ex Tech is the best thing since sliced bread and how much more you can hype it up.

RELAX GUYS
I have no info on modified vspecs but 1 thing for sure that the regular vspec is a proven engine. The Extech does look good and is winning racees. So there is no point in being so so biased. Not all people can afford the modded Extech's. |

Credibility>>>>out the window. Your an on road racer? I'd LOVE to see 1 race result from ANY organized race you have been to.. Cause playing in parking lots don't count as racing. Also I'd like for you to tell me why On Road engines make more power... |
I wont get into the XXX engine is better than the other XXX brand engine. BUT I will comment on how I feel about dyno's....only good for reference to the actual curve. A dyno can HELP tell you how linear of a powerband you can expect. But the numbers....are too hit or miss for me. From 1:1 to 1:8 scale.....dyno HP numbers are unreliable....imo.
Oh. and Trinity rulez ;) |
I won't get into the argument either. I've never run a VSpec anyway, so I can't. I can say, of the engines I have run, the R.P Ex Tech is difinitively the best I have personal experience with.
GM- This is a thread for E.T engines, your very first post was totally bagging on them. What's the point of posting in a thread when 1) you have nothing positive to offer? 2) You offer no constructive criticism nor ask any relevant questions about the product? Bottom line, IMO, you're the whiney bratt child looking for attn, and seemingly you have gotten it. Hope you enjoy your moment in the sun here in the E.T engine thread. Now please go away. There is simply NO reason to jump in a thread to be totally negative about the product other than you're begging for attn. |
I bare witnes to the Extech engines and they are a ballistic screamer on the track. The bottom end on that thing is absolutely insane in a buggy and the top end is impressive to say the least. The sound it makes on the track is noticeable in regards to the power it puts out. I'm definitely a believer, with or without the dyno "testing".
My only concern is the reliability of it's carburetor after a gallon or two since it is derived from a Sirio. A few of you guys might know or have experienced a bad carb more than often. |

Okay punk I have had my fill of all your BS... I am done sitting her watching you insult everyone else in modding business... I know you are too lazy to even run your own RC cars..you have never even once ever raced a RC car, either onroad or offroad.... You have never even once run a RC on a track, nor do you even know how to tune your own needles... If it wasnt for Adam at AB Mods you likely wouldn't even know where to put the fuel into the car............You sit here and insult everyone else, claiming like you some sort of RC authority, meanwhile all you are is a big pretender... in the last 2 years you have not even burnt a gallon of fuel, yet you sit here and insult everyone else who actually run and modify nitro engines ..... I mean seriously Travis its time for you to face the real world and realize you don't know a dam thing about RC engines, RC racing or anything of the sort.... you are a total internet cowboy.......Its extremely sad that Adam at AB Mods tolerates your crap, as all your BS severely hurts Adams business and reputation... You drag poor Adam into so much uneeded bullshit that ends up costing him customers and business...If I was Adam I would have knocked your teeth out long ago...... FYI it wont be long till I will come down to visit Adam, I can hardly wait to teach your fat ass a few manners ! Everyone here needs to realize German Muscle is a pretender, his only real claim to fame is he's a friend of Adam at AB Mods..other then that German doesn't even know how to tune his own engines, yet he comes to these forums and tries to pretend he is some sort of RC authority...... |

Poor Adam:nod: Adam is a very good guy, he values his friends and their friendships very much, which is why he is always dragged into these internet pissing matches... which is truly bad business for everybody.... German in his own twisted way thinks he's helping to promote Adam's business, but we all know his antics do no good for anybody ! |
There is no reason to poor me... I cant stress this enough.. "I have no control over what a local guy to me gets on these forums and says or anyone for that matter" If it doesnt come from me then it shouldnt be related to me.
Everyone that has ran my engines on and off the track knows that I put out powerful and reliable engines with a smooth power delivery that are VERY raceable engines and go great on the track. Not every engine that I do is a over the top drag modified basher engine that will try to rip your clutch out of your RC and suck fuel like a 747  Although if you want an engine like that I can do that for you with no problem  So sorry for the confusion guys. Please dont take what someone else is saying and relate it to me or my business. Everyone has there own opinions and that I have NO control over. |
How do these Ex Techs work with the jp3?

LMFAO!!!!!!!!! When are you coming to visit? |
OK back on track here. So I ran my new Extech (race Tune) for the first time this weekend at the Tiltyard (BTW if you havent been, GO!!!). The motor flat out hauls, Im not gonna say it was the fastest thing on the track but it had great all around usable power. I was running a 053 pipe, Jammin red aluminum shoes and 1.1 springs in my buggy and it was great. I had bottom end whenever I needed it and was pulling some good speed on the straight. I did have one issue, the carb was leaking around the neck some and gave me some trouble at first. Once I figured this out I used some RTV and sealed up the neck and the pinch bolt from there on out it was great. Because I had issues in teh begining of the day I Qual'd for the D main. Got the bump to the C then almost bumped to the B but ran out of fuel on the last lap :( I cant wait for this thing to really loosen up and I think Ill try one fo the trintiy pipes to see if there is any difference. Anyone one out othere know what pipe is giving the best fuel economy? thats all for now, later!
|
2057 = 9.30 + possible on my local track. :) I can probably push 8 with the 2013.
|
Correct me if Im wrong butthe 2057 is a top end pipe right? how is the bottom runming it?
|
True, it does soften the bottom up a bit and opens it up mid to top.
2013 is more bottom to mid. Most folks around my area are running the 57 to soften the bottom and gain the run time. That is in buggies. Those that run Trug are running the 13 for the bottom snap. I actually preferred the 13 in my bug, but decided run time was more important so I stuck with the 57. |
;)
|
its the dynamite 053. I was low on cash and needed a pipe, 55$ sounded good to me. I really dont understand why all the trinity/NR/RB/OS pipes are so much money.
|
;)
|
You're paying for a name? I got lucky. I was given my W 2013 over a year ago. It was used and dirty but otherwise solid. It still werks, pun intended, very well. I just passed it on to a fellow racer. With my S 57, I found a guy selling 3 pipes altogether for one very, very good price. One was a S 13, I traded that off though I wish I had kept it.
|
yeah its a nice pipe for the money, and it has the re-enforced outlet so thats always nice. I like the way the 053 is running but I was just barely getting 7.5min a tank. I think maybe I an lean it out a little more at take care of that. Plus I was running at the tiltyard and you sure are on the gas alot at that track. Have you tried running a smaller restrictor? maybe a 7mm would be the ticket.
|
;)
|
the 8mm IMO is a bit much. I think the motr would benfit in runtime as well as making the powerband a bit more linear with a smaller restrictor. a 6 or 6.5mm is as small as i would go though.
|
yeah I was thinking about a 7mm, do the ones from Sirio fit correctly? First Im going to lean it out a little and see how that goes. The motor is still a little tight so Im sure it will get better with some more fuel in it. 10+ runtime is nice but really Ill be happy with anything over 7.5.
|
;)
|
wow
|
I have done well over 10 in my truggy. I went the whole 10 minute main and then did a lap or 2 after and still had fuel left in the bottom of the tank.
