I use to run Go engines long ago, back when the 5-port was the silver head...and luved them. They were a cheap, fast, long lasting, engine...if you changed the rod after break-in. Then they changed them and muffed everything up. The price I saw for the new GO is $265...even more then the popular Lutz engine. Before Go charges that price and wanting people to buy them...they will need to prove themselves all over again...its that simple.

The current retail price in the US for the GXII Plus is US $229.95. For the GXII-5RHO it is US $209.95. We are the current North American distributors for GO which is how I know this.
In regards to CERA, there may be some prototype or early production units out there. I actually have a couple of pipes with the CERA name on them, but no engines. Like Shane says they are currently not available from the factory.

Primary support is from the dealer, then us, then the factory. Using your example of getting the wrong sleeve the dealer you bought it from is your first contact point. If the dealer has one they will ship it to you (at Bellgate's expense) and we will replace their stock. If the dealer doesn't have one then we will ship it out.
Please keep the questions coming. I'll do my best to answer them.
Hopefully @Rampokker explained the NZD vs USD difference to your satisfaction. Evolution Hobbies corrected the price on their site so it now reads $229.99. Jeff (Evolution Hobbies) is the only dealer that carries them right now. There is another dealer that is waiting for his sample engine so he can do a tear down. Since he hasn't decided he wants to carry GO I don't want to mention his name.

I understand there were issues. I don't know them all, but I have enough of the picture. All I can say is that we did our research before purchasing inventory and we were satisfied enough to go forward and bring in the 5RHO and Plus engines (and parts). While I believe things are on the upswing with GO Engine I can't predict the future. I can tell you that Bellgate has been in business for 20 years and we aren't going anywhere.

Richard at Bellgate sent me a Go GxII plus to review since I have quite a bit of Go knowledge from the past. It is a nice looking engine, the packaging is very nice. Block looks similar to the Ho, head is nice and sits low. The carb looks like the popular 3 needle. Crank is silicone ramped, this engine has a bunch of nice features. I am going to check the timing #'s this weekend. I am going to help Richard out and stock these with my other engines.

Welcome back Rex
The GXII Plus looks to be a strong little motor for sure.
We have had limited running with them down here, but overall they seem to have a very similar linear power band like the 5RHO, but with somewhat extended top end.
Much like the 5RHO with the .2mm shim installed under the sleeve (something you put me onto a while back).
Look forward to hearing your thoughts on the new motor. I'm sure you will be a valuable asset for Richard in his efforts to put GO back on the map in the US.

Hi guys,
I just picked up a lightly used nitro buggy package for a VERY good price. Both engines have GREAT pinch.
It came with two of the GO engines in the pic. The one in the buggy has a JP-4 pipe on it.
I know these are a bit older of a model. I was wondering if you guys could tell me some basic info on them. Stock needle settings, glow plugs etc
Thanks guys

If you can get your hands on a GO 2072 pipe I would recommend it. This will bring the GX Series motors to life and give you better run time as well.
Run them on 30% fuel with a medium plug. We found the O'Donnell 97T a great plug with these (Werks #6 plug would also work well).
Most of our running is at close to sea level - so plug choice may vary depending on where you live.
These motors run a long LSN in the carb normally - but I remember that a large percentage of the motors imported into the US were factory fitted with a short LSN at the request of the importer at the time.
If you do have a long LSN model (where the needle remains in the fuel delivery tube right up to WOT), then the tuning will be different to a normal short needle model.
For the long needle version the HSN is set only a few hours in from flush at best (it only effects the last 5% of the rev range). All tuning is then done on the LSN.
If the HSN is too lean, it will result in severe lean bog at or below half tank level. It's quite obvious when this situation exists. Just richen the HSN an hour at a time until the lean bog goes.
From memory the LSN sat at about 1/2 turn in at race tune - depending on fuel, plug, pipe, etc etc.
If you have the shorter needle version (which I suspect), set both needles to flush with an idle gap of around .5mm.
Tune in both needles from there until your were you want to be tune wise.
Hope that helps.
