Go-Tech Engines Thread
Well honestly for me nothing is cleared up. Massive is separate from GO which I did know before. BUT if MM works that close with GO why did he call them Go Tech 2 years after Go Engines was founded??
So all things point to Go Engine and Go Tech being the same company to me. It really does not matter if they are the same or not as long as the engines are good engines, but I think people are asking for clarity and all that is happening is it is being made more and more confusing. This is just me but it seems nobody involved really knows whats going on.
I have seen MM himself say that the MG66 is a Gen 6 engine, while the GO people here say it's a Gen 5.5. So does MM get new gen engines before GO themselves get them??

Im assuming everyone is getting very defensive about my questions cause you assume im doubting the quality? That 1000000% wrong. When I was shopping I was talking to deadman about getting a go. But went with the PR instead. Being as my engine is built in a go factory I was hoping any positive and negative testing, specs, tricks, tips would bleed down to my PR as well. I was asking grizz fir facts cause I can garantee when I tell a local guy my PR is built at a go factory they will assume its" a junk go tech".. and I would like hard facts to argue with them. If you plan any trips to LA or flowood in MS let me know. Id be happy to compare and learn as much as I can about any go built product.
hopefully I cleared things up. If you have some specific questions about your PR or Go in general, please feel free to post them. If people get their panties in a bunch, or if you get harassed pls feel free to take it up with me or "puddin" (team manager) on here. You can also reach both of us at the "team" email address below.
Why are you concerned with what someone else at your track will say? I don't get it. I mean who cares what engine you have, if you win the race then it was good enough. Let others pay 2-3x what we pay for engines of similar quality. I see no point in spending more money on a nitro engine when i'm getting all the performance i need out of an engine that costs less than a dynamite mill. Not to mention the fact we can replace a p/s/r for about $60 when others need to spend well over $100 to do the same. I laugh when people ask what kind of engine i have, most have never heard of go engines, but as soon as they see it on the track they are impressed to say the least.
I don't" care" what they say. But id like to promote them in a positive way. And well there isn't really much positive memories of "go-TECH" . And I can't say " OH YEAH THEY ARE COMPLETLY DIFFERENT COMPANIES" when nothing but two guys forum posts in a GO TECH thread says any different. How many times do I have to say it! I OWN A GO PRODUCT! IM NOT QUESTIONING QUAILITY PRICE OR PERFORMANCE! Unlike you, who" laughs" when someone asks you about a product you use.. I like to tell them its great and they should check them out.
People saying the MG66 is a Gen 5.5 is once again people who are mis-informed.
You have heard MMods say his MG66 is the only true Gen 6 motor currently out there, and this is correct. The name stands for Massive Mods / GO / Gen 6 / 6 Port (others will debate the 6 port part too, but lets no go there now).
The current GX Series is a Gen 5.5 - not a Gen 6 as some people have also stated on here.
When the new GXII comes out next year this will be the GO Gen 6 engine.
To explain a little more -
Mark, being the development officer for GO over the years, has used his engine modding business as a sort of test bed for the GO motor progression - and I mean that in the nicest way
When we were at Gen 5 and MMods was producing the Gen 5 Stage 5 modded 5 Ports, these were in fact the fore runner to the Gen 5.5, GX Series and some of the mods and R&D went into the MG66 too by the look of it (crank etc).I have a hand modded Pro Series Gen 5 motor here I still run. Mark used to engrave the crankcase of each modded motor so he could refer back to what he had done. The crankcase on my motor says " Stage 5 Gen 6" and this motor is 2 plus years old. So you can see it takes a long time for ideas to become reality. Some of the mods on my motor did not appear in the 5.5, or GX, or MG motors, so it was truely an R&D situation.
My apologies if I seem too sensitive, or argumentative, but I am only trying to help, and it just gets frustrating when you supply information and keep getting asked the same question over and over.
It may well be I have it all wrong (wouldn't be the first time). I am just going on what is written down from people who have researched the company background, and certainly have a lot more contacts in the RC industry than me. But they could have got it all wrong too I guess.
Does it really matter - I guess not. We have a great product regardless of where it came from back at the very begining. It is what it is now, and what it is going to become in the future that we should be concerned about, and at this stage the future for GO looks pretty bright

2010 was the 4th season I've run this product. People have asked me about Go Tech vs. GO Engine. I tell them what I know. "I have no info about whether or not it's the same company BUT even if it is I've seen a progression of improvement with every generation right up the the gen 5.5 (GX) engines. Same price as the previous versions with improved performance and reliability. So, whatever company it is, they are showing a commitment to quality at a fair price." I always refer to the product as GO Engine. Our U.S. Importer is GO Engine USA.
I'm also curious as to the history/timeline of GO...............but no matter what ........GO Engine is making great engines at the present time. If they weren't, other companies wouldn't be asking them to manufacture engines for them.
Moto
P.S. I think if anyone knows the history it would be Mark.

It's understandable that you guys are passionate about your product. That's actually better than people that just don't give a crap. I only asked questions because I have read many posts and was just confused like some others.
Just as a suggestion maybe you guys should have a thread that is not titled "Official Go-Tech Engines Thread" because that alone is rather misleading.

Ehhhhh - WRONG !! Did you not read the link I posted deadmancourt. A new company started in 2005 making only RTR engines until Naga Racing came on board and they started to make race engines as well.
No mention of Mr Wang taking over the defunct GO-Tech company and producing race engines. How is that the same company ??? What are you guys smoking today
Phew, I'm outta here until normal transmission is resumed
FLANNO MATE - help me back to the land downunder bro.
