Hey folks...found the Go Engine US web site, but I can't find a GX 7 port. Anyone know where such an item could be obtained, and what about parts here in the US?

Hello everyone. I have a yes or no question. I have a OS vzb .21......
I'm may have something crossed but a couple years ago I remember hearing that the con rod from the 7port is the same as the OS .21. I rebuilt a second hand d8t that included OS .21. I'm having the sleeve pinched at raya's and I really don't want to use the old the con rod. So, is the Go tech 7ports con rod the same as vspec's? |

GO have just release a new entry level 5 Port motor - the GO G5T.
Based around the GX-5R (a brilliant motor), the new motor has a different crank and comes with a coral red G5T heat sink. Pricing on these will be HOT !! Ideal first motor for someone getting into nitro off-road, or great as a second "practice" motor so you can keep your GXII-5RHO for race days only. Check with your local distributors for availability and pricing :) |
Yes we have the new Zilla range in stock and the new MG66 RX in stock :-)
All MG and Zilla engines are hand built and piston matched. This means no more than 1 litre of run in before racing it. Much less stress on rod and bearing as a result and an engine that wont break your starter box :-) Pm for details :-) M :batman: |
Hey folks...went through the 3 old Go motors I've got and I've still got a couple of good crank/rod sets and at least one P/S set that would run right now. The other two are crowning out of the sleeve but look real clean, has anyone pinched any of these? I think with some fresh bearings, seals and pin clips I might just have me a running Go. None of the carbs looked worth messing with but I've got a few old REX 3 needle carbs in a drawer around here somewhere.
Just in case that bombed I went ahead and snagged one of the GXII 5RHO motors from amain. Now that I've got a specific motor on the way, can ya'll school me up on this thing? I've read the run in instructions on the NZ Go site and will print them before I get started so I think I've got that covered unless directed elsewhere. Also, will I need to go ahead and find a rod just in case? If so, please point me in that direction, and what (turbo) plugs are working best for you guys? With any luck this engine will live in Kyosho GT2 so I'm thinking mostly just winding it up then let it coast down will be the bulk of it's duties so any high rev pipes I should look at that work well with the GXII would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help. |
I pinch any brand motor, used to do a ton of rebuilds on Go's. Send me a pm.

Thanks in advance for your help. The O'Donnell 97T seems to be the universal plug of choice on 25% or 30% fuel. No extra shimming required for 30%. The matching GO EFRA 2072 will bring both top and bottom out on the GXII. You could try the Dynamite 086 for more top end. The guys used to run these on the GX 3 and 5 ports with quite a bit of success. Just follow the tuning guide (under the run-in guide) on the website. Everyrthing you need to know should be there. NB: The needle settings on the run-in guide are for the 3 needle carb motors only. So follow the settings below: Initial run in settings - HSN 1 hour in from flush. LSN 0.5 turn in from flush. You may have to lean the bottom slightly depending on pipe and fuel. Just lean out slightly from here as you get through the tanks. Race tune should be around - HSN 2 - 3 hours in from flush. LSN 0.75 - 1.25 turns in from flush, once again depending on pipe and fuel etc. Read up on tuning the long taper LSN too. It's in the tuning guide and tips on the site. A little different from traditional short needle carbs. Let me know how it goes in the GT2, as I have just put an order in for the new Serpent 1/8 GT Cobra. I don't race on-road as such, but just want something to hoon around with for an adrenalin rush on some nice big flat areas around my place. I don't like running my good off-road buggy on the asphalt, so something purpose built for the road seemed like a good idea. I have a GX-7R that I am going to run in it. The old 7-R has bundles of top end, so should be some fun :sneaky: |

Yeah been all over the world the last year andna half. Feeling good afer a break :-) Now just settling into a groove and getting back in touch with friends in the rc community. How you been? M Yeah all good mate. Still cranking those GO's out over here. The GXII is just a great product. Super reliable with a massive reputation over here now. They just sell themselves. Trying to keep out of trouble, but that's not easy in this game as you would know more than well enough ;) For such a small sport the politics are frightening. Been doing a bit of racing. Made the A-Final in our North Island Champs a month or so ago. My first A-Final in a national event, so tick that one off the bucket list. Hmm let me see, that just leaves the AC Cobra replica, an owned and operated indoor all weather off-road track, ahhh the list goes on.......... Well you gotta start at the bottom of the list and work up - right ?? It's all good bro. Nice to see you back on deck  |
