Where is this new facility? Chicago area isn't "right out my back door" , but might be do-able

I was running my go engine the other day at leisure hours in joliet. Seemed to keep up with the werks and ninjas just fine and then i realized it was too rich, so i leaned it out and was pulling away from them in the straights with ease

Oh yeah !! The 7 Ports will make most motors look pretty average down the straights The look on their faces is priceless - just like in the Mastercard adverts

Dang, I was hoping it'd be northwest of Chi Town. Griffith is 300 miles.

Ok GO guys I need some advice. I just took apart my engine for a good cleaning and to replace the con rod. Here are my questions.

1. I can't seem to get the carb off (yes I took the screw out). It wiggles a little but not much.

2. What is the best way to get those little ring clips out of the piston? So I can change the rod.

3. What is the best stuff to use to clean the entire engine inside and outside. It has a lot of gunk built up on the outside and was wondering what I could soak it in.

1. Try installing the screw in from the other side of the "carb wedge", then gently tap on the screw. This will drive the wedge out of the crankcase. The second wedge is then easily accessed and removed.

2. A small Hemostat or micro electrical pliers makes working with the clips much easier. Be very careful when installing them, they are spring steel and love to fly to invisible places.

3. I have a small "bench" I made. Large enough to put a small coffee can on. It's on legs and has a 540 size motor fastened underneath. I installed a large pinion gear with all the teeth ground off on one side to cause an imbalance.
When I switch on the motor it vibrates, causing my coffee can to agitate the cleaning solution in the can. I use chlorine free brake cleaner. Some cleaning fluids may cause O-rings to swell.

do the piston clips inside a plastic bag, unless you have lots of them
i use motor spray to clean out my motors, then flush with water, then blow dry & re-oil straight after

Thanks for the tips guys. Now I can't get the rear bearing out. I was trying to use my wife's hair dryer but I don't think is getting it hot enough to tap it out. I can only get the block up to 175*. I think we have a heat gun at work. I'll have to try that.
