Well the motor ran great all day. I qualified 3rd and was chasing the leader until...... Somehow the plastic shock end cracked and the rod pulled out. So I was running with only one shock and I think I finised 4th or 5th. Oh well next weekend hopefully will be a different story. Thanks again guys for the help.

Took the GX-5R out in my truggy this weekend and the damn thing blew up my clutch bell. lol It just couldnt handle it. the mesh was perfect and the bearings were brand new which did not blow they are still in like new shape, but i threw em out anyways, didnt want tainted bearings. lol

theres the bell, a section of the teeth actully broke off first, about three of em all in one chunk, then as i tried to drive it back to me the rest of the bell broke loose from the teeth.
crazy. this CB was only a gallon old to.

sorry flanno, raced in taree yesterday & started work at 1 am this morning, just got outa bed
scurr i use 13 tooth with the 1.0 springs so the clutch engages earlier in the rev range on dusty low grip tracks & still have massive top end.
on tracks with good traction i use the 1.1 springs with the clutch shoes reversed for max launch out of the corners.
if your straight is over 40 m long just step up a tooth for every 5m longer the straight is
works for me
if you go to big in the tooth size you will loose punch for short runs to jumps out of corners as well
tyre choice is a big part of the problem as well
just try the softer springs first then the 14 tooth bell
HTH

Think i may get another 13 tooth clutch bell with some springs of 1.0 and 1.1mm
sounds good to me
different types of clays have different grip levels which require different types of tyres to get max grip, your clutch setup is only 1 part of the traction problem, have a look at what the fast blokes are using for tyres on the tracks u go to. have a talk to them about how the track changes through the day also.
