Which one would be better for a d8t the mg66 or gx-3 or 5 ? definatly getting a go just not sure what one would ge best the tracks i race on are medium in size i guess .Just want to be able to clear big triples as i have a lrp and seemed to get to the 3rd jump and smack right on top of it so i would have to double then roll over the third. For a truggy in the GX Series, definitly the 5 Port. It has bottom end for Africa. Next would be the 7 Port which has good bottom but is better known for it's insane top end. Lastly the 3 Port which is a very smooth motor and much more suited to a buggy.
Cheers
well the MG66 died yesterday....sudden loss of compression...been coming for a while since one of the the piston circlips shed the tiny bit you use to remove it and scored the piston and sleeve..bummer..oh well looks like I'm racing the 7 port this weekend then....thats got just 9 litres through it with a new rod, ceramic bearings and a GX TINi crank just fitted....hehe..should be fast enough..

Those clips are a bugger. They seem to be the most common cause of sleeve and piston damage by far. You just never know when their going to give up or pop out. Must be a better way ??I think the 7 Port will suffice mate. The GX 7´s are blisteringly quick. Everyone here that is running them in buggy just loves them, and there´s not much out there that will catch them down the straight

Looks like bedding in a new MG66 PRS set will be your mission this spring.
Yeh OH what a bugger I thought..Having just fitted a new crank after the clutch bearings ruined the end of the original I'm hardly distraught at the thought of having it entirely like new again for the rest of this season. Not like the PRS is going to break the bank.Ran the 7 port today and it's howling like a demon anyway..still not entirely convinced on the tiny low pro filters though..definitely had to lean the motor some which means they are flowing less than the old filters.Mind you it was that dusty today I had to pour the flour out of my bloody outerwears pre filter..So maybe if we get a drop of rain next week to lay the dust I'll do a little back to back testing with both types of filter and body shell and decide once and for all. God can't believe after months of wishing for the rain to stop so I could finish the track now I'm wishing for just enough to lay the dust before sunday. On the plus side I just got my first free test cans for the new Kalgard range of products ( see thread on here for info) so should be showing those around too and getting some orders.

Run times seem to be close but engine response seems to be better with the big filter. Maybe just my imagination? Also did you ever get the 8 hole shock pistons?
The short needle will be fine, it just tunes different to the longer one.
