I JUST BOUGHT A GO TECH STARTER BOX AND IT SAYS THAT IT NEEDS 2 NIMH 4600MAH 7.2V BATTERYS. WHAT IM WANTING TO KNOW IS ISNT THERE A BETTER BATTERY LIKE MAYBE A GEL CELL OR SOMETHING THAT I CAN PUT IN IT INSTEAD OF THOSE STICK BATTERYS. I WANT SOMETHING THAT WILL LAST NOT SOMETHING THAT IM GOING TO HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT CHARGING. JUST PM ME IF YOU HAVE ANY FIX TO THIS PROBLEM OR ANY SUGESTIONS

2x or 4x 4600mAh NiMH packs will last longer than a gel cell battery. They'll also be lighter. You may also want to try a LiFe or Lipo battery pack. The Losi starter box lipo will work: http://www.losi.com/Products/Feature...rodId=LOSB9821

It does say on the box that it will take either the stick packs or a 12v 7A gel cell or sealed lead acid battery (your typical burglar alarm battery will work fine). I run a 12v 7A gel cell in my starter box and it lasts for weeks on end between charges. Give it a nice slow .3 amp charge overnight and you will be good for several meetings before needing a recharge, and their a lot cheaper too
Either set up will work well.

So with that said, Rick I do apologize and hope that you do except it. MATT
No worries Matt, I talk to so many people it gets confusing sometimes and I forget to say things. That's the reason I prefer the phone. At my age that still doesn't help. It's not a problem and you can call me anytime you wish. Let me know if you have anymore problems. AS always I'm here for you and anyone else anytime you or they need me.

The gel cell batteries work great. Like grizz said, they last a long time. Only thing I don't like about them is the weight. I've got a gel cell battery in my truggy starter box, and a 4s lipo in my buggy box. My buggy box spins even the tightest engine without any issue, and its heaps lighter than the truggy box.

Will the new GX piston/sleeve/conrod and crankshaft fit in previous generation go engines?

I'll be running sticks or Lipo in mine. as the whole reason for wanting the new box is for away meets and to save weight in my plane luggage and also gell cells aren't allowed on the plane.

That's great. I just received a limited number of them last night. I'm keeping one for myself and offering the others to dealers. I'm running 2x 2S 2500mAh life packs in a series. I believe they're rated at 20C, but more than enough for this application. Honestly, I feel that LiFe batteries are the best solution for starter boxes. They have sufficient voltage: 3.3v*4= 13.2v, which is greater than a 12v gel cell, so you'll get greater RPMs than with a 12v. Additionally, you get higher discharge rates (in AMPERES) with LiFe than both lipo and gel cell. Then there's the safety aspect. 12v gel batteries are acidic and lipos will BBQ your box if you run them all the way down. With a LiFe pack, you get the best of both worlds.

Wanted to give you guys an update. I just received a large supply of parts- seals, glow plugs, cases, GX crankshafts, front and rear bearings, head shims, head buttons, STARTER BOXES, FUEL COOLERS, TOOLS, FUEL BOTTLES, etc. If you're looking for parts, chances are that I've got it in stock. Next order arrives in 2 weeks, which will be my bi-weekly GX engine inventory refresh.

For those of you that are waiting on parts from amain, they should be well-stocked next week.

Also, if any of you are looking for break-in services, ask any of the dealers on here send me an inquiry and I'll point you to the right people.
Thanks!
Trey

Oh... you mean THESE?

Should have them in a couple of weeks, and have pricing figured out by Sunday.
