depends how it's running ..half a gallon and you could tweak it just a bit....hows it feel..is it pulling strong or is it still so rich it feels like it's choking up especially at the top end..if it's pulling well throughout the rev range I'd be tempted to put another gallon through it quick myself b4 tweaking it at all..if you feel it's choking a bit then lean it just the tiniest bit..

My take on rbmods.
I have been dealing with rick for about 5 years. He has modded several engines for me. I have called him numerous times and he either answers or calls me back. He is the one who recommend the gx-7r that I bought from him.
To each his own but I have never had any Problems and am very happy with his work.

Thanks for the kind words guy's, yes Matt I do mods although the Gx motors are very good stock.
Kendall had a great weekend, he ran a Gx 5 port in the buggy and truggy and won both classes by at least a lap.

I ran my GX5 on the track for the first time this weekend and wow. this thing is a power house stock. I want to thank rex for all the help he gave me during the event. The go's were turning heads all weekend.

Can any one plz tell me what the correct venturi size will be for the GO GX-7R engine with the GO 2072 pipe?

There is no ¨correct¨ venturi size, it all depends on track conditions and how much economy you want out of the motor.
The bigger the venturi (8 mm) the more power you will make, but you will get reduced run times (and probably too much power). Most guys run the 7 mm or 6.5 mm restrictors for economy and smoothness. Just tune the motor accordingly and set the EPA to match the throat size of the venturi.

I ran my super tight 7 port yesterday in my buggy for a club day.

6.5mm venturi smooths it out ? LOL

Out of the box, 10 min before my first heat, primed fuel, loosened plug, heated engine,
kicked over, put a pinch test tune on the bottom end, put a drink can cozzi over head to keep in heat, sat idle for whole time leeding up to race (12min), 2min before my race topped up tank, put buggy on track for warm up just circulate track to check top end tune no jumping with short bursts on straights to put more heat in engine, leaned top end 2hrs in from flush, topped up tank again before hooter.
then raced and only jumped easy jumps in 1st quallifier, came in to check tank fuel ussage @ 5min mark and a splash of fuel, noticed only ussed 1/2 a tank and decided to try for full run in next quallifier with no stop.
Q2 repeated warmup as above, topped up tank before hooter and race as normal doing all jumps and ran whole race and came in still idling .

Q3 same again but now trippling our quad jump instead of double double

Quallified 6th for the final.

in the final was not only doing tripple single over the quad but now also jumping our back table top all the way to the very top flat part of our far back step up and turn down our multi step downs .

Finished 5th for the day and a HUGE grin on my face from ear to ear.

And openned a few GO ENGINES critics eye's today !!!

Ran and burnt off all fuel in engine, after run and sure to be at BDC and packed up to go home.

Still has heaps of pinch today cold so will have to repeat heating as above for it's next few outings.

NOT ONE FLAME OR BLOWN PLUG ALL DAY !!!!!

You gotta love that

Had a similar experiance with one of my customers (and my sponsored driver). He had a brand new 3 Port with two tanks through it. Took it to a national event (our North Island Champs), ran another tank through while doing a quick tune before the first heat. Ran the motor a little rich for the 4 heats. Made the semi. Ran that and qualified for the final. Ran that and won the event. All on a GX-3R two tanks out of the box.

These GX motors ROCK !!!

Rex it's great to here Kendall is doing great with
his factory sponsored GO GX engines.
How does the new Alpha engine that you're running
now compare to the GO GX engines. Have you or
Kendall been offered any sponsorship by the Alpha
engine team yet?

No, Kendall's sticking with the Go engines. I got a couple Alpha's to see what they are all about to see if I wanted to sell them also. I like to know first hand what I sell so I ran an Alpha this weekend, not going to quit selling the Go's either. Alpha ran great, but Go still has the best bang for the buck with the combo. I also like to see how the different port timing on the Alpha runs since the motors are similar.

Well guys, just came from the 2nd Stage of the Chilean Offroad Nationals 2010. Here the results, the truggy performed flawlesly giving me a qualifying position of 3rd place and direct to finals, then on the 40 minutes A-Main fought hard and got 1st place ... place full of losis and associated truggies, only 2 hotbodies on a 12 cars A-Main, the other guy got 6th place.

Truggy Podium :

My Truggy after the race :

Basic equipment description :

Thanks for the tips about GX5R .21 Engine, first race with the new line of engines, more than happy. Ended using 0801 GO pipe, gave me the best balance between power and consuption (engine its only on 20 tanks "after the race" and i was able to pit on 8 minutes mark no prob.).

On Buggy another history, 7th place on A-Main, 6 mistakes and 6 flameouts on GX7R ... dont know why, all went good, qualified 3rd but on amain, i tubled 6 times and gave me 6 flameouts, i have to check lines, tank, everything ... any tip ?

cya !

I have also been using RBMODS for about 5 years with no problems at all. Rick is always there to answer questions, great customer service and quick turn around times. I don't know what issues you have had but I bet if you called Rick and talked you could get them resolved pretty quick.
