its cool , thats just the confusion that comes from people trying to undermine others position in order to make themselves look better. In the end they look like they have no idea and it confuses people. ANyways ! if you want a real answer you can always ask me.
Cheers MM I assume you are talking about me "undermine others position to make themselves look better" I was stating that I was not seeing a difference in the 2 rod part # bushing dia. How exactly does that make me undermine you?? You are the one that came on here confusing people, telling them they couldn't run the new rods in old motors or vice versa. Maybe the old rod was smaller, but they are not available. As Trey said the Factory says both rods are interchangeable. You are coming off like it will ruin the motor if you run the wrong rod, it is a very small difference and is not that big of a deal. Still yesterday you posted to someone there was no rod that will fit that engine, talking about an older gen 4. even the new 21-0600 will fit it just fine. Rex |

Hey All
We have some excellent news , we have the MG66 being tested by an indipendant company in the USA . They have 2 MG66 engines that will be thrashed to the bejesus , dyno tested , endurance tested and any other kind of mad cruelty that can be dished out, This is basically what they do for a living so we are really excited about the results we will get ! Stay Tuned ! M Anyone looking for a new Mg 66 I have one for sale cheap, I was going to run it myself this spring but I refuse to now. Pm me! Rex |

I think the Mg66 is a little too high priced for the Us market, I've had trouble selling them.

thats a good question as far as bang for buck im not sure i know where i am the MG a anywhere form 100-150 $ cheaper then other motor out there with the big names and yet the MG delivers and just keeps delivering ...
the new gx series are awsome to i really liked my gx5 heaps of power and run time but i forgot to charge my receiver pack or it failed , if theres a new go tech to try i will certainly always get one thats for sure |
Awww - come on Rex, you'll love it. Can't see the point in getting rid of a nice motor because of some little spat on the forums. If you've got one there it would be a shame not to use it, or for Kendall to give it a try even. Depending on his sponsors etc, I guess that may not be possible.
I think the selling thing is more to do with the motor being fairly new, and at this stage unproven in competition in the US. It has certainly taken off everywhere else, but the US market is pretty hard to break into with any product. You guys are pretty self sufficient, so it can be hard for outside products to get a look in. Hopefully it will get a foot in the door at some stage, because it is an awesome motor, and a lot of racers are missing out on a great product. |

Rex Yes a 21-0600 will fit a gen 4 and 5 but wait till you get to about half a gallon and see what happens to the big end of the rod. If the crank pin is 4.8 mm dia in that engine and the Rod is 4.99 there is too much slop and will eventually break. You of all people should understand that. The relationship between tolerances of said parts is crutial to a long lasting engine. the correct new tolerance fit between the components should be 0.07 mm. The 21-0600 is designed for the MG and GX range of engines , it has been cut to enhance the engines static and inertia balancing. Yes you can run a new 28-0600 rod in it but the whole point to developing an engine is to get the most out of it ... recommending the RTR rod is going backwards. Even measuring tolerances down past 0.00 mm is useless unless you have material that wont change its physicality with ambient temp. Pretty much every component in any RC engine will expand and contract with ambient temps when you get that far down in incriments. The whole reason this thread was started was to HELP people get accurate information on the Go Engine range and hopefully to rid dissemination of misinformation. And you are not helping . Kind Regards MM |
mmmmmmmmmmm, I had a post that showed a couple of nice ladies having a drink....... but it was moderated, sorry guys. All that was left was the word "Should"......
