hey guys

im new to rc's probly roughly 6 months . had china cookie buggy that crumbled and got a decent one i just brought a go tech 5port for it.
have a few questions about the engine.

i used the heatgun on it and put foil round the head and it fired first pop but wouldnt keep running( very rich i think) i had to leave the glow ignitor on for it to keep running? is this normal?

also i was only using not even quarter throttle and thing looked like it would pull a tree stump out the ground. is it to lean? its got heaps of smoke splattering all over the joint tho so im confused!

everything is brand spanking new ive only ran 1 tank so far like that but wanted to get some advise b4 i keep going with it.

cheers brett

I heard that there is a youtube video with someone doing a dyno on this engine anyone got the adress?
cheers:)

U mean the video that shows a MG66 putting out about 6 hp :D:D:D Thats sick
Just search massivemods+dyno on youtube :D:D:D

MassiveMods 10-22-2009 04:15 AM

ok heres the video , we have worked out why the reading was so high . the wheel ratios were double so the reading doubled ,, so the 6.4 hp reading was really 3.2 hp on that dyno .. we did 22 passes and they were consistant .. mind you we were running on 7% nitro

Let me do some checking on that for you. It would be worth it for you and some friends to order multiple bottles because of the shipping. Shot me an e-mail on my shop site and I'll let to know on the shipping. Thx

Mark is that with the Bio fule you were testing with ?

rageworks 10-22-2009 04:40 AM

In my opinion, that video is pure BULL SHOT.
Until the MG66 gets tested on a, industry standard,
X-Dyno here in the U.S. and I see the real numbers
I will wait to buy one. Let the guys that live where
the weather is warm enough to race this time of year
buy them and give there reviews on it. Just wait until
the engine modding gurus here in the U.S. get a chance
to test and tweek the MG66. There opinions are whats
going to be the real test of the MG66.

mattwoodcraft 10-22-2009 05:00 AM

dyno or not , these motors are bloody awsome in your buggy or truggy:nod:

Lean out your low end until it will idle properly. You "may" have to richen up the high end just a tick if it is already clearing out when you give it throttle. Sounds like you are doing everything just fine. Make sure your temps stay above 200F so you dont develop slop in your rod. Good luck and have fun the 5 port is a power house.
