Hey Rex, do have an old carb body or a complete
used carb for him? Sounds like his carb slide is worn bad and the lower carb sleeve is broken loose(death wiggle). |

Yea, a few of my GO engines have burned a bit of
nitro with O.S. and Novarossi carbs on them. The O.S. carb has a smoother power band and get a little better run times compaired to the Novarossi which gives more snap on the low end. The GRP carbs work on them also. |
I am not sure what is going on here. I have been trying to access the new website that is pictured a few post up, but for some reason when I try to pull it up, I only see the new GX Series engines and banners on each side say Coming Soon.
Trey, I am not sure what it is that I am doing wrong. I am trying to keep up with everything here, but the racing season is almost over here, and due to the holidays with family, there will be no more racing action for me this year. :( I still want to be part of everything related as I fully beleive in this product. I still run my EB MODS 21 5 Ports but need a carb seal and 2 cylinder heads as my keep breaking the rings on the bottom. Anyway, any help would be greatfully appericated. James Carter |
The site is not done yet. That was just a sneek peak.

I need to add some more content and some banners on the side, but the framework is done. most of the artwork is as well! Forums are installed too- just need to modify some of the categories, permissions, etc. We're close! |

I've heard some of the early Go's had a different taper on the needle's and one hour was a big adjustment. If you haven't put new o-rings in the high and low speed I would do that first.
Rex From what it sounds like, his seals need replacement. You have the new seals in your shop, right? Trey |

The GX ones are like this too. Puddin commented on it when he was tuning his GX7 (which is obscenely fast, by the way!). I'm supposed to be getting some prototype HSNs, but we'll see what they send me. I also ordered some tapered LSNs for more finite LS adjustment. That should be fun too!

Do the GX motors you are bringing in now have the shorter LSN (as per previous models imported into the US like the Gen 5's and 5.5's), or did you opt for the standard longer needle carb ? |
I'm bringing in whatever the current standard HSN is. I'll verify what that is with the factory as soon as I can. I'm supposed to be getting prototypes of a new HSN, but that may have already gone to production. So... we'll see.

Just be aware that the different LSN's require totally different tuning methods.

The Gx motors I have all have the short lsn. I had the Hsn out of a Gx and the taper looks similar to the 5.5, I will put it on the comparator on monday. The Gx does tune different and you need to make smaller adjustments. Rex |

Hmm - OK. I know the previous distributor in the US opted for a short LSN carb for the US motors, to fall into line with other brands on the market.
To the best of my knowledge the GO factory normally puts the longer tapered LSN (that stays in the spray bar up to full throttle) as a standard on their motors. All the motors distributed in the Sount Pacific have always come with the longer needle since it was introduced. You can't tune a long needle carb in the same manner as a short needle one. You will end up with massive lean bog. What happens is people normally end up with a way too lean HSN and a very rich LSN, along with an idle gap that is too big which masks the very rich bottom end. The motor will run "sort of" OK like this, but will get very hot at the end of a tank and never achieve full performance. Check the needle situation out Trey, just in case you have a mixture of the two. You wouldn't want any customers being put off these great motors because of a little hiccup like that  |
I am pretty sure all Go engine Usa motors have the short low speed needle. Maximo is in Canada and gets his motors from Fx I believe. I am not sure which motor motox 450 has but in his sig it has a MM motor listed which would mean it has the long needle.
I might give the long needle a try again next spring, most Usa customers had better luck with the shorter needle. Rex |
Rex, I beleve that Neal (Maximo) told me that the
GX engines he got in came with the long low speed needles. Also, I didn't know that you owned one of those "Comparators". Man, you own some great tools. |
