I have an idea, how about offering an "Offical
GO Engines USA Starter Package". In it there is a
heat gun, temp. gun, GO Engines fuel bottle, two
glowplugs, GO Engines stickers and proper break-in
instructions.
Laugh at the idea if you want, but I think it's
a pretty desent brain fart myself.

Patience, young jedi. Once this ship gets up to speed, I have a number of things planned.

Ha!Ha!, Young Jedi!!!. Trey, I'm probley the oldest
member on this thread. When you get to know Rex
(22racer) and Neal (Maximo) better, they will tell ya
about that crazy man from Virginia (rageworks) who
never stops adding to his arsonal of bad arsed nitro
engines. I hope to get to know you too, in the near
future.

Can someone point me in the right direction for .25-6P parts? Here's the engine I own:

Go Tech .25 6-port Engine

Where would I find a piston and sleeve?
Does the 7P+2 crank and case interchange?

Rex mentioned that the .21 conrod works. I'm assuming the .21 wristpin and snap rings from the 7 port will also work. That should be good enough for my first 4-5 gallons or so, but I'd like to perform proper maintenance and keep it around for 10+ gallons. It's a good engine for an 8ight-T 2.0 on loamy old-school tracks.

Thanks fellas,
Mark M

:confused:if the crankcase is the same as the earlier generations then you should in theory be able to run the GX series carbs with no mods in the earlier gen engines

Just a thought.

the cranks are interchangable as the are just a coated 5.5 and the PSR sets as far as I'm aware are still the same part #.....
But I could be wrong

Hey all you GO fanatics out there, be patient. I am sure Trey is doing his very best to get the GO products out to his dealers asap.
I have just taken over the GO distributorship in my home country, and it's a lot of work to get things up and running. I am only dealing with a very small population, but spent the best part of two weeks just getting things sorted before I even put an order in with the factory (which takes about 3 - 4 weeks to be delivered). Building even a basic website (do it yourself) also takes lots of time and effort, much less a complicated site with online ordering etc.
I hate to think what Trey has to cope with, trying to set up dealerships and a supply system for the entire US. Mind boggling stuff.

Trust me, it will be worth the wait though. The new GX Engines ROCK , as do the MG66's :sneaky: We had 3 of the new GX 5R motors in truggies at a meet last weekend. Barely broken in, they performed very, very well. A few more litres and they will be ultra competitive.

Hi Adrian,

As far as I know all parts from the GX Series are retro fittable to the Pro Series motors, with the exception of the new GX carb. Can't tell you why the GX carb is not compatible at this stage, but it does have a different part number to the earlier carbs, and is listed in the GO parts guide as "for GX only".
Looking at the part numbers, the crankcase is the same for Gen 5, Gen 5.5, GX and MG66 models. The GX crankcase takes the same crankcase O ring (OR-004) to seat the carb, so the new carb will fit the earlier models, it's just not compatible for some other reason. Maybe Massive can enlighten us on that one ?

Also, do you remember the offset cooling head on the MG66 motor you looked at last weekend. It's like that on purpose. The cooling head has been offset slightly to create a vortex effect around the back of the head, and give approx 5% more cooling - that's straight from the designer himself :). How sneaky is that :sneaky:

Ruune 10-10-2009 10:27 AM

Hey guys, yes the GX carburetors fit older cases. In fact, ALL replacement carburetors that come from me are going to be the GX variation. The same with all .21 "Pro" cranks, and the predecessors to the GX series.

makaluch- I just ordered added a couple more .25 complete rebuild kits (piston, sleeve, pin, clips, conrod). Please have your dealer contact me, we'll get the ball rolling on that! The 7p+2 is a .21 rebuild and will not fit the .25.

rageworks- Sorry... didnt mean any insult. I was just alluding to the idea that we do have a ton of things in the pipe, and are open to new ideas. Keep them coming!

grizz1- the new carb is completely different, but it does fit the older motors. Simon and Mark (Massive Mods) both told me this.

i really like the new carbs on these engine tune awsome

zJatoRad 10-10-2009 01:38 PM

Ruune are you going to bring any .25 turbo buttons?

Ruune 10-10-2009 03:59 PM

I dont know that any exist, but I'll talk to the factory and see what we can do. My first priority is to get existing replacement parts and the new engines on the shelves.

lowlife88 10-10-2009 07:35 PM

I know that was in the works late last year and they had a few proto types but they were working on the head clearance. I'm sure their main focus was on the GX line so I'm sure the turbo button for the .25 was put on the back burner. When they do complete it I would love to see some bench test between the 2 buttons. Not to mention everything else now for the most part are turbo it would only make sence.

rageworks 10-10-2009 08:22 PM

I got my .25 turbo head button from 22Racer(Rex)
about six months ago. It gives the engine a little
more low-end snap and better top-end. The part
is listed as, "Burn Room 25R Turbo" #25-0206.
I think the .25 is a great running engine and adding
the turbo plug made it even better.

Ruune 10-11-2009 10:09 AM

ok... You're right, on that part number. So, I requested 5 of these turbo buttons. I dont know if the shipment has left yet, but it is scheduled for monday. If they dont go on this shipment, I'll have them put on the next one.
