I think once a few more people here see what the MM Go's are capable of, you might be getting a few more orders from this side of the ditch in the future

Hey, you want to be careful saying things like that in Aus mate - you will get strung up !!! I was at the match in Brisbane and there wasn't to many happy faces wearing green and gold I can tell you Broke my little heart But I won't gloat too much, as a year is a long time in sport and the shoe may well be on the other foot in the future.
Those Gen 6 and 7 motors sound very interesting. Can't wait to see the reaction from all the Go knockers when they hit the tracks and make them eat a bit of the old humble pie

I need a little help boys. I just purchased two 5 pt. turbos from a member. I went to run one yesterday and it has a real bad mid to high throttle bog. So severe that coming off of the starter box it was hard to keep it running to warm it up. When I was able to keep it running it seemed to run pretty good after it was warm, but still had a hesitation at the same spot. The engine was previously sealed by the owner, and the truggy fuel system is tight. I reset needles to factory settings. I did notice that the lsn oring is a bit worn, I put some slime on both orings. The engine is pretty new (1 1/2 gallons, and good pinch).

As with any motor make sure the idle gap is set, .7-1mm. Then set you lsn to get a good idle. You might be too rich on the bottom and lean on the top. It does help to shorten the Lsn if you have the long one, I have been shortening mine to 2.42 inches they are around 2.6 from the factory. Just grind it to length and round the end. you will be richer on the top but the bottom won't change much.

There is alot of pages on these engines, sorry if this question has been asked. Is the Go Tech 3port sport part# gotr21-m100sg any good, worth the money, and if so what pipe would go good with it? Thanks for any help, just starting out and don't have a ton of money to get started.

It's a good snappy engine, use a topend pipe, 0801 from GO or JP3 2050, it has very strong bottom but spools up fast and then falls off, but is good on small to med size tracks.

Hey guys I've been reading and following this thread for a while and just had a few questions as I'm fixing to purchase two engines in the near future.(one for buggy and one for truggy)

Have all the carb issues been resolved on the current run of engines? I have been debating on picking up a Turbo 5 port .21 Go for the truggy and a Turbo 7 port .21 Go for the buggy.

Are the engines lasting a pretty long time with a good tune? How reliable are they now? I'm used to italian made novarossi based engines and am used to having an engine last for over 7 gallons.

How would these engines compare to say a Novarossi P5X?

And lastly what would be the ideal pipe choice for the engines I'm considering?

You will get about the same life out of a Go as a Novarossi, they hold there pinch extremely well. You could change the rod a little more often just because there only $18.69.
Power of the 5 port is similar to the p5x, I think a tad more even. The 7 port runs I think similar to a 421b which I think is one of Nova's best motors.
As far as the carb issues, of all the motors I have sold not one has had problems locally. Some of the newer carbs had the steel ring wiggle a little but they have changed that now. If you have one come loose they will send a new one, they never get real loose just a little wiggle.

As far as pipe, an 086 seems to work good on all motors, some use a 053 on the 7 port. The new Go 0801 is supposed to be much stronger when it comes out, it really is a nice pipe but dents easily.

well i didnt get the .25 broken in yet so i had to throw the 3R in the truggy for the race weekend. i was very suprised how well it did in the truck. i had ran it in the buggy all summer and was very happy w/ it but was underestimating it in the truck i guess. i did run on a smaller indoor track but the engine performed very good and ran right w/ all the other big engines in the class. i have 5 gallons on this thing and it just keeps performing

Well, I've got to say, I was getting very frustrated with my go tech 3port. I just could not seem to find a tune with any power or one that would last. I actually bought an RB Engine an was ready to drop it in, but thought I would give the Go one more chance.

Anyhow, I reset everything back to factory (Flush HSN, 1 Turn from Flush LSN). Then tuned the LSN first, by running it around and then bringing it back to me, anc counting the seconds before the idle lowers. Once I has it waiting 20 seconds before the idle lowers (which also had massive LSN power) I tuned the high. It only needed about 1/2 hour and I could not get any more top end out of it. Seemed to be running super rich, but loads of power.

Now that I've tuned it this way I was able to get a two day race event under it's belt without any needle adjustments. And it ran great, rich and high temp of 260.

Sounds like this is just the way this engine is. If it holds this tune I'll be very happy with it, and not switch to the RB I've got waiting.

Just wanted to remind anyone else that is having tuning problems with this engine to do the LSN first and don't worry about it spewing fuel on the HSN. If it's got great power, go with it.

FYI, this Engine has about 2 gallons on it.

does anyone know if there is a ceramic front bearing for the Go 5 port? all I could find was the stock one and it's not even in stock.

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/10586

Thanks!

z jato i believe the bearing size is the same as novas so the answer would be yes...check tko, carolinas rc,rc compound etc. also you could e-mail brian of PTM he should be able to help you out

on a side note i figured out what was wrong with my go and how i snapped my crank....

the rear bearing locks up every so often...how do i know this because i would spin it and then it would catch and lock up...so i believe that's what caused the mishap with the crank...and the sucky part is that my piston is chipped but the sleeve/piston still have pinch so now i have to go buy a whole new set

i will have this motor back up pretty soon

I think this is the TKO front ceramic bearing you are talking about:

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id/6250

but it's 7x19x6mm and the stock Go front bearing is 7x18.6x6mm
