Yes I am happy but other people who run other types of engines grp, other go engines 5 port are running at about 90c.
The engine came from our local shop but it was ordered from smd who are the disributers in the uk.If i need shims how many and which ones. The engines always runs good, just concered about the temp. Cheers 90C is way too low except if you are driving in cold and rain where the weather + splashes can make the engine run cooler. There are differences in engines and what works but definitely all Go engines should be run over 100C to get the power out and avoid premature wear. |
Was breaking in my 3 port race spec the other day... Had gone through several tanks on the box, just plopped it down on a parking lot surface, put about 2 tanks through it just fine, but on the third tank, I guess my receiver pack randomly dumped, and it went to 3/4 throttle runaway. About 5 seconds into the runaway I regained control only long enough for it to flip upside down, and go back to 3/4 throttle. My heart sank. I ran at full throttle to it and plugged the pipe with my knee.
Got it home and it actually doesn't look like I had a runaway at all. The rod and everything appears fine. Only time will tell. |
A lot of the subject but my starter box just took a crap in the middle of breakin, I don't have the money for a new box at ths time. Is there any kind of shaft start or electric start for the .25 6 port just for breakin and not for race. The breakin period has killed my poor starter box.

yes, starter box battery is dead ten minutes into trying to get the engine running.

The Go's come with one aluminum and 2 brass shims. If you added a third brass shim for break in you can take it out after break in. You could also take out another brass shim so you only have one aluminum and one brass. Go's seem to have more clearance than a Novarossi, just be careful to keep an eye on temps and too much compression can blow plugs. If you blow plugs then put the shim back but I don't think you would have any problems.

Well I did some testing today and ran 10:40 with my 7port turbo today in my buggy running WFO 50% of the time. Running in My Rc8 with a 16 tooth bell, stock clutch setup, dynamite 053 pipe, werks medium conical header 6mm RB restrictor werks 30% with axial cold plug.
I belive theres still more to be had with a hotter plug but it runs fantastic at 210-220. |

I get 11:30 out of the stock 7port turbo in practice and make it to the 10 minute mark during races before I pit. I have tested with the 7.5mm insert and it goes up to 13:00 minutes. Amazing! I only have about 1.5 gallons on the engine now.

wow nice to know I could probably lean her out and push it a little farther, Big change from my JPX .21 that wont even do nine in truggy with a 7mm carb
How big is your track cherokee this is mine http://www3.telus.net/ryliem/DSCI0311.JPG (the six pack is now carpeted) http://www3.telus.net/ryliem/DSCI0312.JPG http://www3.telus.net/ryliem/DSCI0313.JPG http://www3.telus.net/ryliem/DSCI0314.JPG http://www3.telus.net/ryliem/DSCI0315.JPG Its fairly loose so my throttle finger could be a little lighte to gain more milage |

What are the stock needle settings for the 5pt turbo?
Thanks.. David |
just finished breaking in my 7 port and all i can say is wow. I started with this one cause my 3 port and 0801 pipe are not here yet. I followed the break in that was on race factors site and it went pretty smooth took along time but no problems. I was wondering this motor is so tight that even when i get done with a tank i cant turn it over by hand, do they stay tight for along time. SO far i like what i see let you know more tomarrow is my first race with it. I have a os 2050 on it right now and it has tons of power cant wait for the 0801 to show up.

Hi All,
Is the GO 0801 pipe the same as the OCM Redline pipes? |
