They should seriously consider changing the name to the "10R5.2" and not 10R5.1, it would then mirror that more of the 1/12th scale car in terms of release date and parts. Who cares if there was no 10R5.1 technically.

Looks pretty cool though.

Kody or Sean or ???

Does anyone have a used but decent condition AMR 12 or the "CRC flavor" that is cut for a FT 12R5.1 chassis. I don't have one to paint or even the time to do it. I would perfer to run Mod 1/12th but I guess I coud try my hand at Mod sedan if I need to.

Agreed. Sean can you get that to the marketing department ASAP? The most exciting feature of the new 10R5.2 to me is the new dual clamp rear hub. I had to do all kinds of voodoo magic to get my 10R5 hub to stay on. Have fun racing tonight. Wish I could be there.

I think there were enough significant changes and the fact of how long the 5 was out to call it a 10R6.

I had the same issue with my hub at the ECC and found a dual clamp black hub in my part lot with huge meaty screws.. awesome. I will be buying this kit once I move some stuff including my Nitro TC package.. I'll hang Jose's 10R5 back on the wall...

I have secured, through the grand master himself, a set of tamiya ball cups.
Jeff may still be looking for some but I'm covered.

Default 11/3 Race Night

Another Magnuson Saturday Night in the record books. I'm thinking--and it may be a bit premature, but I'll go with it--that the Gym is working out for the club. What we saw last night was pretty much the homegrown stuff with no out of town racers to pad the numbers. 73 entries, including two full heats of novices, two full heats of Modified, and deep fields in our core Stock and Scale Spec classes.

It is fantastic to watch brand new racers putting cars on the track for the first times in their lives, and then to watch some of the best in the country crack their whips in Modified and Stock. All on the same night, with the same club, and on the same track. I get to call a lot of races, and last night we had quite a crowd in the bleachers for a solid two hours just hanging out watching the racing. Club race spectators!

Some enterprising individual could develop a profitable book for those so inclined. Imagine...
"I'll take Panda at 2:1, he's looking rested and Canyon is wrenching tonight. His head is good."
"No way, it's Peeler 3:2. He strapped in a 3.5 and it's on full boost. It's going to wormhole backwards through time."
"Uh uh. I see the ass-end of an impacted 12R5 sticking out of the padding at the end of the straight. Give me Maybell at 5:3. He drives like my Grandma on a Taco Time run to Ballard, but he gets there."
"He's old and half-blind, but I'll take Slappy at 6:1."
Seriously, this could work...

Anyway, here's Malkinson's wire to wire win in Stock TC.

Well, I just wrapped two fun things to do today: work and a funeral. But racing sure was fun last night. Yeah, I can not believe the new comers to the Gym. Wow, way to get a taste of some prime racing. And what was that entry count, a lowly 73? That felt way more relaxed then the 84 a couple of weeks ago. A few things seem to work out better; the 6pm start, the pits piled up on one side, and no frontal visual blockages. All good. We didn't have any problems with the breakers tripping. Everyone brought something to cover their pit tables. And it looks like we were able to keep the grub off the gym floor. Excellent job everyone! I know that these are a couple of inconvenient rules at times, but it's the price we pay for a superb place to play.

Now get to work on those 10R5.2's or whatever and see everyone down at the 'Zone.

Default Tub News!

I will not be able to make the next race on November 17th. Going on a family trip for my birfday. That means the Tub will not be at the next race.

I hope to see everyone at the shop for some supplies before the race. Please let me know if I can help with anything.
