Hi mate,
We run this engine in a control class here.
It is not a high power engine its a good beginner class engine.
It does fit in the Mugen however it's crank sits 1mm higher then other engine.
This means it hits the carbon engine brace, I just put some washers under it and it's fine, it also mean the flywheel is a bit harder to reach if your stater box has a big wheel.
The std. Mugen clutch spring is also to heavy for this engine. I use a team magic blue spring it's much softer. Also the 2 speed springs can be replaced with lighter ones too. But the std. Ones do work.
I think this engine only revs to about 30k rpm other pro tourer engine rev over 42rpm.
Hope this helps..
If your are competing in pro tourer this is not a competitive engine.

Reason I'm suggesting this is because the kit setup is quite a safe and understeering setup. For me it didn't had any steering at all.

If you want to reduce the mid-corner and on-throttle steering I would suggest trying the following:

-Lowering rear rollcentre
-Softer rear ARB
-Thinner oil in rear shocks
U might want to lower the shims on your rear top hub down to 1mm....this will take away some rotation in the rear an make the Car push more..

Or for that little more the Nova ISON which from memory rev's to 42k, this engine would keep up at Club Level.

We drive the Novarossi N12T1 engine, now called the Sturm, for the last 3 years in the Netherlands, great Stock spec class..!!

The laptimes are on al tracks between 0 and 0.2s. slower compared with free engines...Go figure...

Shawn, do you have youtube movies of your spec class with the OS engines, would love to see the engine running in a race.

I'm not sure I have any video, we use this engine not because it's cheep mainly because OS have not change it much of many years, and it not to fast for beginners. Even the version 2 still has the same internals just a few exturnal up grades which help with reliability.
Steve!!

I use the black springs all around. The standard silver springs are a bit too hard for the amount of traction available at the tracks I race at.
Last year I ran two shock setups:

-Front, 500cst (Capricorn) with 2x1,2mm pistons
-Rear, 650cst (Capricorn) with 2x1,2mm pistons

This gave the car a nice balance and worked well when it was a bit warmer and good traction.

Later in the year it was colder and traction lower I ran 3x1,0mm pistons with 500cst oil all around.
The standard damping is way too hard if you ask me, makes the car too slow in transitions.

Default MTX-6 Set Up Low to Mid Grip

Going to run the car for the first time in a few weeks on a track that never gets enough cars or prep for high grip. Recommendations on a starting set up. Probably running 35ft / 37r for tires due to wear issues. Not sure how much practice time we will have

Point me towards a set up sheet would be OUT STANDING ......

Thanks
